RDRVR 0.8.13. Install as before: RedHook first (its DirectX hook off), then Install.cmd from the zip. Your settings carry over (no reset); the new options start at their defaults.

Third person

  • Snap turns in third person (the Comfort tab, off by default), with its own Third person snap angle (10 to 90°): with First person off, a push of the right stick turns the view one step at once while the game's camera turns round underneath. A push while one is still settling adds the next step. By a wall or in a doorway, where the camera cannot swing as far, the view is handed back to it in a short blink.
  • The reticle in third person: "Reticle where the shot lands" (the Guns tab) now also works with First person off, where the game's own aim lands, with the game's flat crosshair hidden meanwhile.

Guns and reloading

  • Bullet trails can be turned off (the Guns tab, on by default).
  • Lever guns, four ways (the Reloading tab, "Lever guns"): the stick held and the gun down and up (as in 0.8.12, the default), a roll of the gun hand ("Roll to open", 20° by default), a flick of the right stick, or a flick of the gun.
  • Fanning: "Fanning zone size" and "Fanning speed", and "Show the fanning zone" (off), a ring round the hammer showing whether a sweep would cock it. A bigger zone no longer makes the next sweep harder to arm.
  • The copy hits as the gun it shows (on): a dual-wield copy shown as your other sidearm does that gun's damage.

Melee, body and HUD

  • The gun-butt melee finds townspeople, its new Hit strength (the Gestures tab) can knock them down, and the second gun and the copy swing on their own.
  • Left-handed: John always holds the gun in his left hand (the option that crossed his arms is gone), and the holsters stay where they are.
  • A duster's cloth is drawn with the body you see ([Body] ClothFollows, on); a chest you kneel at no longer turns with you ([Body] WorldPropsStay, on); the game's own gun at the right hip is usually hidden while the hip shows the mod's.
  • The wrist HUD's radar cut-out can be moved and resized (the Display tab), with a button that saves a picture of the HUD to send with an issue.

Most of this was used in the developer's Quest 3; see the README's notes for 0.8.13. Known issues: a dual-wield copy of the Cattleman can sit turned in the hand after walking out of a building and back in, and a revolver at the right hip can show a second, trailing copy of itself; both are being looked into. If anything looks wrong, please attach RDRVR.log from the game folder to an issue.
