FeedRank for Zotero 0.3.0 — first public release.

Rank the papers in your Zotero feeds by how relevant they are to your own research. FeedRank scores
every new item in the feeds you already have against a research profile you write, using the model
provider you configured in Zotero; the results appear in a sortable Score column and in the item
pane. Optional: journal metrics from EasyScholar with your own key, and a weekly digest emailed
through your own SMTP account, reviewed by you before it is sent.

No FeedRank backend: no server, no account, no telemetry. The providers you configure receive what
their job needs — the research profile and paper metadata go to the model provider, the publication
name and your key go to EasyScholar if you enable that lookup, and the digest goes to your own SMTP
server.

Requirements

Zotero 10, at least one feed in your library, and a model provider configured in Zotero.
EasyScholar and SMTP are optional.

What it does

  • Scores every new feed item 0–100 against your research profile, with a one-sentence reason.
  • A sortable Score column, and per-item details in the item pane.
  • Journal metrics from EasyScholar (your own key), cached locally and mirrored into Extra.
  • Local priority signals: a bibliometric weight and an arXiv significance reading.
  • A weekly digest by email, reviewed before sending, with a one-click rebuild.
  • Settings as a file: save, load, reset — and a reset keeps your cached scores.
  • Credentials stored only as OS-encrypted ciphertext in Zotero's own credential store.

Notes

  • Developed and verified on Windows with Zotero 10; macOS and Linux are untested.
  • A manually started digest is sent only after you press Send. Enabling automatic sending gives the
scheduled digest standing permission, so those runs do not ask again — it is off by default.
  • A settings file holds your research profile and your mail identities in plain text: keep it private.
    See docs/SETTINGS.md and docs/PRIVACY.md.
  • For troubleshooting, use Copy sanitized log: it does not copy the report, it builds a small
one from an allowlist (build, TLS mode, protocol stage, cipher names, numeric codes, timings),
so identities, addresses, server text and local paths are absent by construction.
