SparkPark v0.2.0-alpha
SparkPark is an unofficial PC recompilation of PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure (Wii, USA), a fork of PokePark Wiicompiled by MildRain479. All credit for the game port itself goes to upstream: the recompiler, the runtime, the renderers, sound and controls.
This is the first SparkPark release you can just download and play, with your own disc. The download is a one-time builder, not the game. It checks your disc, then builds the game on your PC from it. It contains no game code and nothing from the disc.
How to play
- Download SparkPark-v0.2.0-alpha.zip below and unzip it anywhere.
- Run SparkPark.exe.
- Upload ISO: pick your disc image (ISO, RVZ, WBFS…). It's checked against the original disc; if it doesn't match, you're told why.
- Build Recomp: the builder extracts your disc, recompiles the game code and builds the game with the bundled compiler. No Visual Studio or other installs needed.
- Play. From then on, SparkPark.exe goes straight into the game.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. It's part of Windows 11 and almost every Windows 10 PC; SparkPark tells you if it's missing.
- Your own disc: PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, USA, first release (R8AE01, Rev 0), as a full 1:1 image.
- A graphics card with OpenGL 3.3.
- About 2.5 GB of free space: 0.4 GB for the unzipped builder and about 2 GB for the game it builds, kept in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SparkPark. - Build time: about 1 minute on an 8-core desktop (54 s measured). Expect a few minutes on a slower PC. The disc check takes seconds from an SSD, and about 2 minutes from a USB hard drive.
What's new
- The one-time builder. One button walks through Upload ISO → Checking disc → Build Recomp → Building → Play, with real progress, clear error messages and Retry. It works with a mouse or a controller.
- No Visual Studio needed. It ships with a compiler (llvm-mingw), Python and a prebuilt game-free runtime.
- Full disc verification against Redump, with the reason shown if it fails: wrong region or revision, NKit or scrubbed, or modified.
- Every bundled component's licence is in
NOTICES.txtand thelicensesfolder.

Known issues
- Alpha, tested on one PC so far. Please report problems, and how long your build took, in Issues.
- OpenGL only in this build. The Vulkan renderer isn't included yet.
- "Would you like to choose this Picture?" starts on No: press left before confirming.
- The game window takes focus when it opens. A connected controller's buttons count even while the window is in the background.
- From upstream:
- no fog, indirect texturing, dynamic lighting, logic ops, z-textures, or lines and points;
- no reverb, and the Wii Remote speaker is silent;
- the pointer works only in Rayquaza's and Rotom's minigames;
- no Nunchuk.
Coming next
- Right stick: camera and pointer. It stays the camera in normal play and becomes the pointer wherever the game uses the Wii Remote pointer. A manual toggle, a "Right stick mode" setting and an on-screen indicator come with it.
- Filling upstream's gaps, starting with what's most visible in play.
Unofficial. SparkPark is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company. PokéPark Wii is © Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. and The Pokémon Company.
Bring your own disc. This release contains no game data.
Don't share built files. What SparkPark builds on your PC contains code and files from your disc. It's for you to play: never upload or share it.
SparkPark v0.1.0-alpha
SparkPark is an unofficial PC recompilation of PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure (USA), a fork of PokePark Wiicompiled by MildRain479. All credit for the game port itself (recompiler, runtime, renderers, audio, controls) goes to upstream.
Source-only alpha. Build from source, bring your own disc.
There is no download to play, and there never will be: SparkPark doesn't distribute game data or code built from it. You build the game on your own PC from your own disc: PokéPark Wii (USA), R8AE01 Rev 0, as a full 1:1 dump. See Building in the README (Windows, Visual Studio 2022 or 2026 Build Tools, Python 3, decomp-toolkit; OpenGL works without the Vulkan SDK).A program you build contains game code recompiled from your disc. It's for you to play: never share or upload it.
What's new
- Full disc verification. Your disc image is checked against the original disc's Redump hash (SHA-1
c9a6f7601fd54b5e21a0909084839d30874a9a37), not just its game ID. If it doesn't match, you're told why: wrong region, wrong revision, NKit or scrubbed, or modified. - SparkPark branding.
SparkPark.exeand the window title. Upstream's license and credits are kept intact. - A guard against publishing game code.
build.py --publicnow refuses by default, since its output contains recompiled game code. - Docs.
ARCHITECTURE.md(how the port works),BUILDER-PLAN.md(research for building on the player's PC), and a progress log.

Known issues
- Source only. You need Visual Studio's C++ tools and Python until the builder is done.
- Tested on one Windows PC, with OpenGL only. The Vulkan renderer hasn't been built or tested in SparkPark yet.
- First-run window not hand-tested. Its disc check is tested on real decomp-toolkit output, but hasn't been clicked through by hand from a fresh folder.
- The game window takes focus when it opens, so keys typed elsewhere at that moment go to the game. A controller's buttons count even while the window is in the background.
- From upstream:
- no fog, indirect texturing, dynamic lighting, logic ops, z-textures, or lines and points;
- no reverb or other sound effects, and the Wii Remote speaker is silent;
- pointer only in Rayquaza's and Rotom's minigames, and no Nunchuk.
Coming next
- The one-time builder. A single window that verifies your disc, extracts it, recompiles and builds the game on your PC, then plays it. No Visual Studio needed.
- Right stick: camera and pointer. It stays the camera in normal play and becomes the pointer wherever the game uses the Wii Remote pointer (menus, first-person/photo mode, pointer minigames). A manual toggle button, a "Right stick mode" setting and an on-screen indicator come with it.
