Ship Monitor

The ship monitor obtains information about your ships, both the currently active ship and ships in your shipyard, and makes information on them available.

The ship monitor uses information from the Elite journal as well as the Frontier API. Due to API limitations the ship monitor requires you to make a ship active before details of it are available to you.

Configuring the Ship Monitor

The ship monitor configuration is available in an EDDI tab. It provides the ability for you to set the role of each ship as well as set the phonetic pronunciation of the ship.

The ship's role is made available to VoiceAttack and the speech responder and can be used to tailor information presented to you. For example, if you have a ship whose role is "Combat" then the speech responder will not provide you with information about good trading opportunities.

The phonetic pronunciation of the ship is available if your text-to-speech engine struggles to pronounce your ship name correctly. You can use the Wikipedia reference page to find the appropriate pronunciation and test it with the "Hear it" button next to the pronunciation box. Note that if you enter invalid characters according then the box will turn red and the input will not be accepted.

Damage report

This will check your ship for damage and provide a detailed damage report. Note that due to Frontier API limitations damage information can be up to 5 minutes behind reality so this should not be used in real-time situations (e.g. in combat). It is most useful after docking, to see if repairs are required

Display this ship in Coriolis

Send details of the current active ship to Coriolis. Details include the loadout of the ship but at current does not include engineering modifications.

Report on ship discounts

Provide information about any module swapouts that can take place at the current station, where an existing module on your ship can be sold and repurchased for cheaper than the price you paid for it, saving you money.
