What's new in 0.14.5

  • Failures: When a model can't answer, the room says why in one plain line, with a button for what
to do next. The provider's own words sit under Show details.
  • Failures: If an answer fails before it shows anything, your message isn't lost: it goes back into
the box or stays above. Try again never sends it twice.
  • Limits: A used-up plan or credit stops at once, and a ChatGPT sign-in's rate limit says the model
is still busy after several tries. Failed calls that cost nothing no longer count on the Wallet.
  • Sign-in: AI setup shows a Claude or ChatGPT sign-in that a call found expired as signed out, and
marks a key the provider refused.
  • GitHub Copilot: Signing in no longer turns on models in your GitHub settings.
  • Gateways: When a gateway can't find a model, the line can say if it's gone, the address is wrong
or the gateway can't run it.
  • App: When the app can't reach its own service, it says so plainly.
  • Memory: Review, Memorize and Remember say plainly what happened and what to do next.
  • Chat: Answers keep paths, maths and line breaks as written. Most failed tool steps say plainly
why, and an answer that ran while you were away keeps its tool steps.
  • Rooms: The window title names the room, and on this computer Room settings shows its folder's
full path. Folder messages now say what to do.
  • Failures: When there is too much for the model to read, the room says what: your message, the
conversation, the room's memory or a setting in AI setup.
  • Security: The desktop app's engine, its built-in Node and several libraries are updated for
    published security fixes.

Prebuilt Exxperts archives with a vendored Node runtime. No Node, npm, or Git needs to be installed on the target machine; unpack and run.

Desktop app (window + tray around the same local server). Both desktop builds are signed — the macOS app is notarized by Apple, the Windows binaries are publisher-signed by Exxeta AG — so neither platform shows an unknown-publisher prompt on first launch:

Platform Download
Windows x64 installer exxperts-setup-0.14.5.exe
Windows x64 portable exxperts-desktop-0.14.5-win-x64.zip
macOS Apple Silicon exxperts-desktop-0.14.5-mac-arm64.dmg (or the -mac-arm64.zip) — the macOS assets are attached within minutes of this release going live (they are uploaded from the signed build)

The versionless copies of the same files (exxperts-desktop-mac-arm64.dmg, exxperts-setup-win-x64.exe, ...) exist so releases/latest/download links always point at the newest release; they have their own lines in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Server archives (the exxperts command, for terminal use or the one-line installers):

Platform Download
Windows x64 exxperts-0.14.5-win-x64.zip
macOS Apple Silicon exxperts-0.14.5-darwin-arm64.tar.gz
Linux x64 exxperts-0.14.5-linux-x64.tar.gz

Verify your download (--ignore-missing checks only the file you downloaded):

shasum -a 256 --ignore-missing -c SHA256SUMS.txt

(On Windows PowerShell: (Get-FileHash exxperts-0.14.5-win-x64.zip -Algorithm SHA256).Hash and compare against the archive's line in SHA256SUMS.txt.)

Checksums are computed in CI from the tagged commit; each archive also passed a bare-machine smoke test on its target OS before this release was published. The macOS desktop lines are appended to SHA256SUMS.txt when the signed macOS assets are attached.
