…here core Coefficients are computed and placed in the initialization file for x (zonal) and y (meridional) gradient calculations for cell-centered variables. The coefficients are needed for the frontogenesis function calculation in the MPAS implementation in CESM-CAM. These coefficients will also be used in the MPAS LES configuration.
Enable the gradient coefficients computed and stored in the initialization phase to be read from the input and restart files and written to the restart file when MPAS-A is operating as a dycore in CAM. In future, if the coefficient fields are needed by other model capabilities, the preprocessing currently used in the atmosphere core's Registry.xml file can be reworked in terms of packages.
…/add_grad_coefs Try to replicate the feature added by the branch v8_add_1.7_gradient_coefficients within EWOrg/MPAS-Model.
