PerMark v0.6.3
PerMark is a free, open-source unified document workspace: one place to read, write and organize Markdown and
the files around it, and to steer AI projects through their documents. AI speeds the work. Your vision steers it.
It works with any AI tool, or none: it only relies on your files and git.
Fixed
- Right after a project opens, an agent's search now finds the keys of configuration files too; before, it could miss them for a moment while saying the answer was complete.
- When two projects copy files in at the same time, each progress card now shows only its own project's copy; before, the cards could mix both.
- A document that changes in a tab you are not looking at stays unread, and its changes stay offered for review, until you go to that tab and read it. Before, it could be marked as read while it was hidden behind another tab.
- When you switch tabs while PerMark is still preparing the question for files you dropped, your keys stay in the tab you switched to; the question waits in its own tab.
- A Notes tab behind another tab no longer checks for new notes every few seconds; it looks again when you come back to it.
Known limits
- Tabs, moving a tab to another window and dropping files have not been tested on macOS yet. There, the arrow keys in text fields may not work as expected; a fix is planned.
Install
| Platform | Download |
|---|---|
| Windows | the -setup.exe installer (recommended). The .msi stays for updating copies that were installed from a 0.5 .msi |
| macOS | the universal .dmg (Apple silicon and Intel) |
| Linux | the .AppImage, .deb or .rpm |
PerMark updates itself: when a new version is out, it offers a one-click "Restart to update".
The app is not code-signed yet
The installers are unsigned, so your system warns you the first time. They are built by GitHub Actions
from the tagged commit, and the in-app updates are verified with a signature.
Windows (SmartScreen). If you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
macOS (Gatekeeper). If macOS says it can't verify PerMark, open System Settings, Privacy & Security,
scroll to the Security section and click Open Anyway. On older macOS versions you can right-click the
app and choose Open instead. From a terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/PerMark.app.
Linux. Make the AppImage executable (chmod +x PerMark_*.AppImage) and run it, or install the .deb / .rpm.
