SSCVR v0.1.2-alpha

Compatibility and recovery update for Skillshot City v1.991.

Changes

  • Added support for the current Skillshot City v1.991 executable revision while keeping support for both known v1.990 revisions.
  • Fixed the Tab and Escape interfaces disappearing, flickering, or rendering with incorrect stereo alignment. Both are now displayed through the same HUD-safe interface path and were confirmed working in a physical Quest 3 test.
  • Improved the interface capture path for level-up screens, results, and other large overlays so they are less likely to remain baked into the stereo world view.
  • Changed the completed-round handoff to use the same monoscopic panel as the startup menu instead of retaining two crossed stereo projections.
  • Added deterministic OpenXR shutdown before the game destroys its OpenGL context. This releases the session, swapchains, spaces, and WGL/D3D interop resources instead of leaving them alive after SSCVR closes.
  • Fixed camera adjustments not always saving after mouse-based changes.
  • Made Shift+1 save a self-contained set of final left/right eye captures and alignment diagnostics without requiring the external capture watcher.

Validation

  • Rebuilt the runtime and passed the exact-layout, stereo geometry, normal-network, and public-tree tests.
  • Completed a 4,800-frame Meta XR Simulator soak covering 2,400 stereo pairs, 1,900 heavy-interface frames, repeated menu cycles, a gameplay-to-menu transition, and repeated clean shutdown.
  • Verified the final submitted pixels for interface alignment, alpha handling, transparent letterboxing, and wrong-eye leakage.
  • Installed the package into an isolated Skillshot City v1.991 copy and confirmed that the installed runtime exactly matches this release build.
  • Verified that the release ZIP contains no Skillshot City files or personal development captures.

The completed-round transition, Quest Link recovery after closing the game, level-up/results overlays, and long-session freezing still need another physical Quest 3 test. Stable 72 Hz and the remaining HUD placement/clarity issues are also still being worked on. See the README checklist for the current alpha limitations.

This release contains no Skillshot City files. You must own and install the game through Steam.

SSCVR v0.1.1-alpha

Compatibility update for Skillshot City v1.990.

Changes

  • Added support for the current Skillshot City v1.990 executable revision.
  • Kept support for the earlier v1.990 executable revision.
  • Relocated and verified the gameplay-render, world-draw, and expanded-culling hooks.
  • Updated the installer and launcher to recognize both exact revisions while continuing to reject unknown game updates.

Validation

  • Rebuilt the runtime and passed the exact-layout, stereo geometry, and normal-network tests.
  • Installed from the release ZIP into an isolated copy.
  • Verified all 2,164 original game files byte-for-byte and found only the seven expected SSCVR additions.
  • Verified the packaged runtime files and guarded uninstaller.

The newest game revision still needs a physical Quest Link comfort and interface pass. See the README checklist for the mod's existing alpha limitations.

This release contains no Skillshot City files. You must own and install the game through Steam.

@Epiano7 Epiano7 released this 25 Aug 21:27

Early alpha release of SSCVR for Quest 3 over a PC OpenXR runtime. This may work with other headsets using OpenXR but only the Quest 3 has been tested.

Installation:

  1. Extract the complete ZIP.
  2. Double-click Install SSCVR.cmd.
  3. Launch %LOCALAPPDATA%\SSCVR\Launch SSCVR.cmd.

Requires a legitimate Steam installation of Skillshot City. The installer verifies Steam build 24877062 (currently latest game version), creates a separate copy, and does not modify the normal Steam installation.

Known Issues:

  • tab/esc menu doesn't show
  • HUD is blurry, as well as most text
  • Random crashes related to desync of the graphics hook and the GPU

This build is not recommended for ranked but will function properly.
