v1.6.24
Three changes, all part of ADR 0038 — a group grants, it does not copy. Pairs with fogproject working-1.6 at schema 411 or later.
persistentgroups is retired (#35)
The plugin copied settings from a template host onto every machine that joined a group, because a 1.5 group could not hand anything to a machine by itself. A 1.6 group grants its snapins, printers, client modules and power schedules to every member, hosts added later included, so there is nothing left to work around. Core's upgrade drops the plugin's persistentGroups trigger and its row (schema step 404), and core now refuses to install or activate the plugin again (fogproject #1666).
If you ran it, read the 1.6 release notes: the trigger's copied-column list included hostADPass, the Active Directory join password.
location and ou stop pushing a value across a group (#36)
Both plugins shipped a group tab whose only job was to set one value on every member — a copy, not a grant, and one that always clobbered because it had no way to say leave this host alone. Both tabs are gone. The same operation is now on the host list: Hosts → tick → Edit selected hosts → Plugins, with the three-state No change / Set on all / Clear on all control core draws around every mass-edit field. This is the HOST_MASSEDIT_FIELDS / HOST_MASSEDIT_APPLY seam; these two plugins are the worked example for anyone writing another.
location writes NULL, not 0, into its foreign-key column (#37)
LocationDeleteMassItems cleaned up after a deleted storage node with a call that had always been a silent no-op, and whose intended value — 0 — is exactly what the foreign key on lStorageNodeID now refuses. It writes NULL now, and a repo-wide gate covers all 23 plugin-owned columns core constrains.
