Support

This public repository tracks feedback on distributed versions. The source code and internal development discussions are private.

Report a problem

Open an issue, including where possible:

  • The Soundboard Maker version and, when relevant, the Stream Deck plugin version.
  • Your Windows version and the type of audio or Stream Deck device involved.
  • Short steps that reproduce the problem.
  • The expected result and what actually happened.
  • A screenshot with private information removed, if it provides useful evidence.

Before submitting, remove personal filenames, account paths, private audio clips, tokens, passwords and credentials from every attachment.

For a potentially sensitive security issue, do not publish exploitable information in a public issue. Use an available private reporting channel on GitHub instead.

Feedback and questions

Use Soundboard Maker Discussions to share impressions, suggest an idea or ask a question. Use Issues for reproducible bugs.

🧾 Collecting Diagnostic Logs

If you encounter a bug, Soundboard Maker's diagnostic logs can help us investigate what happened.

1. Enable the diagnostic console

  1. Open Soundboard Maker.
  2. Click Settings (gear icon).
  3. Open the Advanced section.
  4. Enable Show diagnostic logs.

Technical events related to audio playback (Playback), recording (Record), Replay Buffer and Stream Deck connectivity can then be viewed in the application's main window.

2. Reproduce the issue

After enabling diagnostic logs:

  1. Repeat the steps that trigger the problem.
  2. Note what you were doing immediately before the issue occurred.
  3. Look for relevant messages, errors or disconnections.
  4. Keep a few lines before and after the error to provide context.

You do not need to copy the entire console. Only information relevant to the issue is needed.

3. Open the log files

Go to Settings → Advanced and click Open logs.

Alternatively, open this folder in Windows File Explorer:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Soundboard Maker\Logs

Daily log files use names similar to:

app-YYYYMMDD.log

Log files may be recorded even when their display in the main application window is disabled.

4. Include logs in your bug report

Open the GitHub bug report form and use the Relevant diagnostic log output field.

Please include:

  • Error messages or events directly related to the issue.
  • A few lines before and after the incident.
  • The approximate time and actions performed.
  • Your Soundboard Maker version and, if relevant, the Stream Deck plugin version.

🔒 Privacy and Sensitive Information

Before sharing logs or screenshots:

Remove personal file names and paths, usernames, passwords, access tokens, private information and other sensitive data.

Do not upload complete configuration files or personal audio recordings.

For security vulnerabilities, follow our Security Policy instead of publishing sensitive details in a public Issue.
