Animator Studio 1.0.11 / ReSkate 2.1.3

what's new

  • updated to the official ReSkate 2.1.3 source.
  • fixed shared texture allocation so Studio, Mod Manager and the new viewmodels use separate slots.
  • includes ReSkate 2.1.3's plugin manager, permission approvals, physics APIs and other upstream fixes.
  • retains the previous Studio animation, stance, playlist, drop timing and grind transition fixes.

installation / update

  1. install or update the official ReSkate 2.1.3 first.
  2. in launcher Settings → LAUNCHER, turn Install ReSkate updates off.
  3. close the game and launcher.
  4. back up your current ReSkate.dll and ReSkate.Tricks folder.
  5. download ReSkate.dll from this release and replace the file beside ReSkateLauncher.exe.
  6. launch through ReSkateLauncher.exe, then press F8 to open Studio.

your saved animations, packs and playlists are kept. saving a trick alone does not activate it: check ACTIVE and make sure its playlist is on.

ReSkate.dll.sha256 is provided for checksum verification; it is not another component to install. GitHub's source code archives are not required for installation.

validation

  • runtime, launcher and Windows dedicated server compile successfully.
  • 20/20 C++ test suites pass.
  • 21 native Python tests pass.
  • 13 packaging tests run, with one platform-dependent skip.

in-game validation of this compatibility build is still pending. full custom replacement of every grind, loop and transition is not implemented.

help & feedback

for bugs, use F8 → SETTINGS → STUDIO → REPORT A BUG. include the trick/preset, pop, stance, offline/online context, and whether it happens in preview or gameplay. never share your Thunderstore token or account files.

Animator Studio 1.0.10 on ReSkate 2.1.2

Changes

  • Feet follow the game's board while a custom trick fades into a grind, sliding toward the native grind stance instead of hanging above the deck.
  • A later fade or saved grind on the same rail cannot reuse the old entry pose; respawning invalidates captured foot/board samples.
  • On drops, tricks can slow from their catch toward touchdown without slowing a flip before the catch. The authored pose blends back toward the game's landing near the ground.
  • CATCH, CATCH HOLD and DROP PREVIEW controls are available again.
  • Open the studio from Mod Options > PLAYER or the ReSkate menu's SKATER page, in addition to F8 / L3 + R3. Park Editor must be closed and the skater loaded.
  • Native menu regressions now run in the manual tester workflow.

Full custom grind-loop/transition replacement remains incomplete. General airborne foot correction remains disabled.

Install / update

  1. Use a working ReSkate 2.1.2 install. In launcher Settings > LAUNCHER, turn Install ReSkate updates OFF.
  2. Close the game and launcher. Back up ReSkate.dll and your ReSkate.Tricks folder.
  3. Replace ReSkate.dll beside Skate.exe / ReSkateLauncher.exe with this DLL.
  4. Start through ReSkateLauncher.exe. Existing tricks and packs are kept.

ReSkate.dll.sha256 verifies the DLL; it is not another component to install. Upload those two files as release assets.

Validation and final retest

Source: main at f3c4359 (PRs #14, #15 and #16).
Windows Release runtime/launcher builds pass. Nine CTest suites and 21 native Python tests pass; 13 packaging tests run with one platform-dependent skip. The plugin suite skips 15 optional plugin fixtures absent from this checkout. The merged source tree matches the tested candidate.

The incoming changes were tested in game by the maintainer; the follow-up capture fixes were code-reviewed and tested automatically, without launching the game. Before publishing, retest flip-to-crooked/noseslide, a later fade on the same rail, respawn, normal/switch, flat ground and a long drop, both menu buttons, and remote feet with another player.

The SHA256 and binary size are recorded in build-info.json and ReSkate.dll.sha256. Release publication is left to the maintainer.

Animator Studio 1.0.9 for ReSkate 2.1.2

Edit body and board animation keys, build trick packs, choose variants through playlists, and browse/share animation packs through the market.

Download

  • ReSkate.dll: the Animator Studio runtime. Replace the existing DLL in your working ReSkate installation.
  • ReSkate.dll.sha256: checksum for verifying the download; it does not need to be copied into the game folder.

This download contains no game installation or personal animation library. You need your own copy of skate. on Steam and a working ReSkate 2.1.2 installation.

Installation

  1. Install/update the base game installation using the official ReSkate 2.1.2 release, then start it once to complete setup. ReSkate uses its supported Steam build 25414733; keep its folder separate from Steam's current skate. installation.
  2. In ReSkateLauncher → Settings → LAUNCHER, turn Install ReSkate updates OFF. Otherwise the launcher can restore the official DLL over Animator Studio.
  3. Close the launcher and the game.
  4. Back up the existing ReSkate.dll and, if present, ReSkate.Tricks.
  5. Download the attached ReSkate.dll and replace the existing file beside Skate.exe and ReSkateLauncher.exe. Keep your current launcher, presets and settings.
  6. Start through ReSkateLauncher.exe as usual. Open the studio with F8 once the game has loaded.

The native animation library may build or refresh from your installed game on first use. Let it finish. No separate animation-library download is needed for normal installation.

Use your custom animation in game

Open a native trick in TRICKS, edit its keys and save it. In MY TRICKS, tick ACTIVE, choose a playlist when prompted, and make sure that playlist is enabled. Also leave Custom tricks in game enabled in settings.

Only one playlist is on at a time. Saving alone does not activate a trick. TEST IN GAME is temporary until you reopen the studio or restart; ACTIVE/playlists keep your normal selection.

Included changes

  • Body/board key editing, key blend-in/out, per-trick crossfade and configurable editor shortcuts.
  • Normal, fakie, switch and switch-fakie variants; Exact stance and Front foot matching.
  • Named playlists with Fixed, In turns and Shuffle modes, plus market pack previews.
  • Background loading/shared native data for saved tricks.
  • Fixes to board edit orientation, pop selection and local-player grade tracking around other skaters.
  • Correct Fixed/Alternate priority: lower-priority packs no longer join the winning slot.
  • Pack update preparation, backups and rollback on reported replacement errors.
  • Recycling failure/cancellation keeps remaining trick files instead of permanently deleting them as a fallback.

Current scope

  • Native grind/transition inventory and editable previews do not imply that every phase can be replaced live in game.
  • Airborne catch slowing and forced foot-to-board corrections are disabled in this version; catch/drop-preview tools are hidden.
  • Older saves with incorrect stance metadata may need to be recreated.
  • Windows is the validated build target; Studio behavior on Proton/macOS is not release-validated.
  • Interrupted update recovery files can remain in ReSkate.Tricks/.pack-transactions/. Keep them if recovery fails. Automatic process/machine-crash recovery during a multi-file commit is not implemented.

Source validation passed eight CTest suites, native Python tests, packaging tests, 4,004 native preview clips, 19,339 inventory/name entries and 25,511 inspector documents. Automated checks do not replace in-game acceptance; see the acceptance record for scope and outstanding manual checks.

Report an issue or roll back

Use SETTINGS → STUDIO → REPORT A BUG and share the resulting local ZIP with the trick/preset name, pop, stance, online/offline context, and whether the issue occurs in the preview, gameplay or both. Do not include Thunderstore account files or tokens.

To revert, close the game and restore your backed-up DLL. Restore the backed-up library too if you need its exact pre-update state.
