The Home Assistant integration now creates more useful controls for each frame: a scene selector, display on/off switch, refresh button, next/previous scene buttons, and restart/reboot buttons.
Home Assistant automations can now send commands back to a frame over MQTT, including switching scenes with state values or dispatching supported frame events.
Scene field values for the currently displayed scene are now published to Home Assistant as attributes on the Scene sensor.
Self-hosted FrameOS and the Home Assistant add-on can now serve the frames’ backend port over HTTPS using a certificate (FRAMEOS_SSL_CERTFILE / add-on SSL option). The admin UI also uses that scheme when pre-filling new frame server addresses.
Bug fixes
ESP32 provisioning now keeps the correct backend scheme for HTTPS installs on non-default ports such as 8443, instead of falling back to plain HTTP.
Backend server addresses typed with a scheme or port are now split and stored correctly when creating, importing, adopting, or updating frames. This avoids malformed addresses such as duplicated ports.
IPv6 backend addresses are now formatted correctly for ESP32 provisioning.
Bootstrap/install URLs now use the same saved backend base URL that frames are provisioned with, improving reliability behind HTTPS and custom ports.
Home Assistant no longer creates separate entities for every scene field; this avoids entity clutter and keeps field values attached to the active Scene sensor.
Archived frames now have retained Home Assistant state, image, and scene-field MQTT topics cleared more completely.
