Snugtone 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@FritzReigar FritzReigar released this 15 Oct 21:16

The first public release of Snugtone: a desktop music player for your own
library, written in Rust with Tauri. Windows only for now; Linux comes next.

What's in it

  • FLAC, MP3, Opus, WAV, AAC, ALAC, Vorbis and AIFF, with gapless playback,
ReplayGain (read from the tags or measured by Snugtone) and a 10-band
    equalizer.
  • A library that stays fast at any size: a rescan of a 9503-file library takes
under half a second, and your music folders are watched, so new albums show
    up by themselves.
  • Playlists, favorites, M3U import and export, and "Import songs…" for loose
files, which are copied, never moved or overwritten.
  • A check that your FLAC and ALAC files are bit-perfect, grouped by album.
  • Tag corrections and cover changes stored in the library, without touching
your files unless you ask, and lookups on MusicBrainz with the whole
    comparison shown before anything changes.
  • English and Spanish, following your Windows language, with a switch in
    Settings.

Installing

  1. Download Snugtone_1.0.0_x64-setup.exe below and open it. (The .msi is
the same program, for whoever prefers it.)
  2. The installer isn't signed, so Windows shows a blue screen, "Windows
protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Open Snugtone from the Start menu and click Add folder to point it at
    your music.

Free and open source, under the MIT license.
