Flasks update

Flasks

Flasks are potion bottles that can hold multiple doses of the exact same potion. They work with all vanilla potions, including extended and enhanced potions. They theoretically should work with modded potions as well, but I haven't tested that. Potions can not be directly brewed in them with a brewing stand. They are charged with already made potions.

There are 3 variants of the Flask. There is Small, Medium, and Large; being able to hold 2, 5, or 10 doses respectively.

Flasks are charged with potions that are in the inventory by using the flask in either the main or off hand. It will search the inventory from left to right starting with the hotbar then moving on to the top left corner of the inventory and working it's way through from left to right wrapping around. An empty flask will take the first potion it finds using the above criteria, add a charge, and become locked to that exact potion effect until emptied again. Once the flask has been charged it can only be charged further with that exact potion effect. This is to say for example you can't add a Speed potion and Jump boost potion effect to a flask at the same time.

To empty a flask instantly of it's charges, use it on a cauldron with any level of water in it.

To craft them you upgrade the previous. So you start with a Glass Bottle, upgrade to a Small Flask, upgrade to a Medium Flask, and finally upgrade to a Large Flask.

Other changes

  • Added Bottomless Essence
  • Added Pure Bottomless Essence
  • Ravager Horn has been reworked to be Ravager Leather
  • Sculk Bringer now applies an 11 second night vision effect while in a deep dark biome rather than 1 second

Totems Update

There are now 11 different totems with 3 types: Unattuned, Undying, and Nourishing

Unattuned totems have no use or effect; they're combined with essence to create the two other types of totems. Unattuned totems are dropped by Evokers 100% of the time and they stack to 16. This being said, Evokers no longer drop totems of undying.

Undying totems aren't new, however there are now 3 upgraded versions: Charged, Rapid, and Overclocked Totem of Undying. Instead of breaking on use, these upgraded forms recharge over 5, 2.5, or 1 minute respectively.

Nourishing totems are a new type of totem that restores the players saturation and have 5 upgraded versions: Ample, Generous, Abundant, Plentiful, and Bountiful Totem of Nourishing. The upgraded versions can be charged with different food depending on the totem. When the players food level drops below 20 the totem uses a charge to replenish a certain amount of food and saturation based on the version of totem.

  • Totem of Nourishing: Restores 1 saturation to the player about every minute (upgraded versions have this perk as well)
  • Ample Totem of Nourishing: Charged with Potatoes, Beetroots, or Melon Slices and restores 2 Food and 1.2 Saturation
  • Generous Totem of Nourishing: Charged with Apples or Carrots and restores 4 Food and 3.6 Saturation
  • Abundant Totem of Nourishing: Charged with Baked Potatoes, Bread, or Cooked Cod and restores 5 Food and 6 Saturation
  • Plentiful Totem of Nourishing: Charged with Cooked Salmon, Cooked Chicken, or Cooked Mutton and restores 6 Food and 9.6 Saturation
  • Bountiful Totem of Nourishing: Charged with Cooked Porkchop, Steaks, or Golden Carrots and restores 8 Food and 14.4 Saturation

Totem crafting is relatively simple. To create the base versions of Undying and Nourishing you'll need to create fairly simple essence, with the essence requirements scaling up as you craft the better ones.

Things to note

  • Totems MUST be held in the offhand to receive their benefits (including recharging)
  • Totems with a prefix (Rapid, Abundant, etc.) will never break

Other changes

  • Added 10 new Essence and 2 new Pure Essence for Totem crafting
  • All Pure Essence now has foil, or enchantment glint
  • Flawless End Pearls now only stack to 16
  • Reinforced Deepslate is now mined at vanilla speed if using anything other than an Infernal Pickaxe
  • Infernal Pickaxe now has a divining rod effect when using it on a block
    • Searches for all stone and deepslate ore variants, ancient debris, and gem ore
    • Searches a 3x3x25 area in the opposite direction of the face of the block that was clicked (right click east face of a block: search to the west) and prints out in chat if any ores were found

Tooltips and cleanup Update

TLDR; Cleaned up all Inevitable item tooltips, added lore text to every unique mob, crop, and block drop, fixed Sculk Slinger's rocket damage to actually be worth using, reworked all of the unique drop conversion recipes to reward spawn eggs, added a recipe for the monster spawner to use said spawn eggs with, and other random code cleanup and small fixes here and there.

Tooltips

"Shift to show" tooltips have been added to all Inevitable items and all of the new gem arrows. These allow the overall tooltip to be smaller yet the info is still there if you want to see it.

Each gem arrow has been given it's own Trait.

Each Obsidian Armor piece has been given it's own Trait.

Lore text has been added to every mob, crop, and block drop.

Webweaver and Sculk Slinger tooltip damage has been fixed. Previously they were doing the correct damage which was modified in 1.1.0, but I had forgotten to change the tooltips to reflect the actual damage. These are now properly reflected on the tooltip and in the Wiki.

Code cleanup

Significantly cleaned up the lang file, removing duplicates and naming everything properly. Renamed several item classes to represent what type of item they are, or to just make the name match what it is in game. Cleaned up most classes removing unused overriden methods or adding annotations where needed.

Items

Sculk Slinger has had a rocket makeover. Rockets shot from Sculk Slinger now do 3.5 damage per Firework star that was used to craft the rocket. This equates to a maximum of 24.5 damage with 7 Firework stars, and a maximum of 29.5 if within 8.5 blocks of the enemy.

Monster Spawners are now obtainable in Survival.

Mob spawn eggs are now obtainable in Survival.

Recipes

Monster Spawners can be crafted in a crafting bench by placing a Nether Star in the center and surrounding it with 8 Iron bars. The recipe is learned when you obtain a Nether Star.

Mob spawn eggs can now be obtained from conversion recipes for mob, crop, and block drops. Some have multiple recipes that require a second item in the crafting interface. Crafting recipes are learned when obtaining the unique drop.

Ranged weapon and projectiles update

Massive improvements to the Webweaver and Sculk Bringer mainly. There's a new arrow made from each gem, each with their own ability or effect. Unkempt Harold has also been finished. All of these changes will be added to the wiki soon.

Webweaver

Damage is now increased or decreased based on distance from the entity hit. If you're 16 blocks or more from the target you get an additional 1 damage every 2 blocks, capped at +5 additional damage at 26 or more blocks away. If you're 16 blocks or less from the target you lose 1 damage every 1.5 blocks, capped at -5 damage if 8.5 blocks or closer to the target. If you're 50 blocks away from the target you get an additional 10 damage.

Projectiles fired from Webweaver now only apply slowness IV, no wither. Webweaver now has a built in arrow that is used if you don't have any ammo. This projectile does less damage by default, but will do the same damage as any other arrow if the bow is enchanted with Infinity. Any actual ammo in the players inventory is of course used before this default projectile. Default projectile crit arrows (arrows shot when fully drawn) now have a cool particle effect that follows them when fired.

Sculk Slinger

Damage is now increased or decreased based on distance from the entity hit. If you're 16 blocks or more from the target you lose 1 damage every 2 blocks, capped at -5 damage at 26 or more blocks away. If you're 16 blocks or less from the target you gain 1 damage every 1.5 blocks, capped at +5 damage if 8.5 blocks or closer to the target.

Projectiles fired from Sculk Slinger now only apply weakness, no wither. Sculk Slinger now has a built in arrow that is used if you don't have any ammo. This projectile does less damage by default. Any actual ammo in the players inventory is of course used before this default projectile. Default projectiles now have a cool particle effect that follows them when fired. When shooting any other projectile Warden sonic boom particles appear in front of the player after shooting.

Unkempt Harold

Demolition Expert trait has been updated. This shovel can now be charged similarly to a bow and shoots an explosive projectile that uses TNT as ammo. The item's texture will update while charging to indicate how charged it is.

Projectiles fired from the Unkempt Harold have an explosive power of 5 (between a TNT and a charged creeper). The velocity is affected by how much you've charged it. To fire a projectile it must be charged to at least 50%.

Damage of the explosive projectile has been capped at 5.

Arrows

Five new arrows have been added:

  • Sapphire arrows have a 5% chance to summon a lightning bolt
  • Emerald arrows have extra knockback, equivalent to Punch III, or roughly 10 blocks
  • Ruby arrows home in on any mob within 5 blocks of the arrow
  • Diamond arrows teleport the player to the block they shoot
  • Onyx arrows apply Regeneration II to the player and Wither II to the enemy

Other changes/fixes

  • Fixed Gem ores potentially not spawning
  • Ruby and Onyx blocks can be used for Beacon bases
  • Speed, Boost, Vision, and Conduit Essence recipes have been fixed to require potion ingredients rather than the potions themselves
  • Several other small text or texture fixes
