This release also includes des_data.tar.gz, which we use in some examples and tests.
It won't be downloaded automatically when getting the release tarball, nor is it included if you git clone galsim.
To access it, download the file from the v2.8.5 release assets. Then extract the tarball:

tar xzf des_data.tar.gz

This creates a des_data directory with the DES images that the DES examples and tests use.
