Rewind Together 1.7.1

Co-op for Retro Rewind. Download RewindTogether-1.7.1.zip below, unzip it anywhere, and open RewindTogetherLauncher.exe. HOW TO PLAY - START HERE.txt inside the zip walks host and guest through it.

Coming from 1.7.0? Download this zip by hand one last time and unzip it over your old folder. From 1.7.1 on, the launcher updates itself.

New in 1.7.1

• One-click updates. When a new version is out, the launcher shows a green banner. Press Update: it downloads the release from here, checks it against the SHA-256 GitHub publishes, replaces itself and the mod, and restarts. Your saves and settings stay as they are. It won't update during a co-op session.
• Mod check before joining. While its store is open, the host's launcher shares its Rewind Together version and its other mods through Steam. Before a guest joins, their launcher says what differs: another version (red), other content mods such as .pak and Blueprint mods (yellow), or other script mods (just a note). "Join anyway" still works. Nothing is downloaded.
• Discord status. With the Discord app open, your profile says Playing Rewind Together: hosting a video store, visiting a friend's store, running the store, or in the main menu. It also shows the player count and a link here. Nobody's name, address or Steam ID is shown. Switch it off under Diagnostics.

The mod itself is the same as in 1.7.0 apart from its version number. Host and guests still need the same version of the mod and the same version of the game.

Checked

• 223 launcher tests, including the updater against a stand-in GitHub, the mod check with simulated Steam data, and the Discord status against a stand-in Discord. Plus 372 checks of the mod's Lua.
• The real Discord app accepted the status as "Rewind Together".
• Not yet tried: the mod check between two real Steam accounts.
