v1.5.1 - 2026-06-03

Critical hotfix — the panel did not mount at all in the browser on v1.4.6 through v1.5.0.

Fixed

  • Panel never mounted (regression since v1.4.6). The structural-split releases left the module-composition wiring (const { scrollLogToBottom, ... } = runTimelineView, and seven sibling blocks) after the controller creations that consume those exports by value, so init() died in the temporal dead zone before the panel could mount. The wiring (plus the four shared consts it passes by value) now runs at the top of init(), before any consumer. The whole test suite stayed green across four releases because no test executed the load path — see below.

Added

  • Load-order smoke test. test/contentScriptLoadOrder.test.js loads every manifest content script in order inside a minimal DOM/chrome sandbox and runs the real init() end to end (panel mount included), failing on any load-order / TDZ / missing-global regression in the composition path. It fails on v1.4.6–v1.5.0 and passes on this release.

Release

  • Release metadata alignment: bumped the package, lockfile, extension manifest, compatibility target, README release commands / badges, and release tracking metadata for the v1.5.1 release.
  • Bumped package, extension manifest, compatibility target, README release commands, and release tracking metadata to 1.5.1 while keeping native protocol 1.
  • Current release artifact names now resolve to codex-overleaf-link-extension-v1.5.1.zip, codex-overleaf-native-host-v1.5.1.tar.gz, and codex-overleaf-link-1.5.1.tgz.
  • Native host install remains npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- install-native.
  • Native host diagnostics remain npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- doctor.
  • Native host uninstall is npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- uninstall-native.

npm native host package

Install or update the native host with the pinned npm package. Official release builds use the bundled stable extension id by default; pass --extension-id only for a custom or mismatched unpacked extension id:

npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- install-native

Run native diagnostics with the same pinned package:

npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- doctor

Uninstall the native host with the same pinned package:

npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.5.1 -- uninstall-native
