v1.7.7
v1.7.7 - 2026-07-03
Process readability & liveliness — narration is never cut off, and a working run finally looks like it's working. Adversarially fleet-verified (2 findings fixed pre-release: a checkpoint-divider collision with the breathing ellipsis, and a 2-line clamp on error titles that lost its overflow anchor). The native protocol stays 1.
Fixed
- Activity lines wrap instead of vanishing into an ellipsis. Timeline narration ("I will first understand your request, then inspect the relevant Overleaf files.", step announcements, warnings) was styled single-line with
text-overflow: ellipsis— no panel width could reliably show it in full. Narration now wraps (long paths/commands break instead of overflowing), with the status glyph and timestamp aligned to the first line. The welcome panel's probe line wraps too. - Truncated list rows gained full-text tooltips. Diff file paths, session-menu titles, dashboard project names, context-tray file names and change-history task summaries keep their compact single line but now show the full text on hover.
Added
- Indeterminate scan line. While a run is working, a thin sweep animates under the sticky current-step header — the "in progress" signal stays alive even when no new lines are streaming. Hosted on a dedicated element (the header's
::afteris the expand/collapse chevron) and disabled under reduced motion like every other animation. - Breathing ellipsis on the live step. The line currently being worked on (the same "run is running and nothing newer landed" condition that keeps its ring spinning) pulses a trailing
…. - Rows slide in. New timeline lines enter with a 3px slide + fade (previously fade only) — transform+opacity, composited, never reflows neighbors.
CI
- The Test workflow's matrix is now
fail-fast: false, so the observational macos-latest leg (GitHub's macOS pool is still degraded — #118 stays open) can never cancel the ubuntu/windows legs.
Release
- Release metadata alignment: bumped package, extension manifest, compatibility target, README release commands / badges, and release tracking metadata to
1.7.7while keeping native protocol1. - Current release artifact names now resolve to
codex-overleaf-link-extension-v1.7.7.zip,codex-overleaf-native-host-v1.7.7.tar.gz, andcodex-overleaf-link-1.7.7.tgz. - Native host install remains
npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.7.7 -- install-native. - Native host diagnostics remain
npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.7.7 -- doctor. - Native host uninstall is
npm exec --yes codex-overleaf-link@1.7.7 -- uninstall-native.
npm native host package
Install or update the native host with the pinned npm package. Official release builds use the bundled stable extension id by default; pass --extension-id only for a custom or mismatched unpacked extension id:
