omawaydroid 0.1.0
Waydroid that just works on Omarchy and Arch.
omawaydroid builds on the work of the Waydroid project and WayDroid-ATV to add the fixes and patches needed to run Android 13, 16 and 17 with Waydroid on a stable Omarchy machine.
bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/GreyforgeLabs/omawaydroid/main/omawaydroid.sh) install --android 17- Android 13, 16 or 17. Android 17 carries the October 2026 security patch. omawaydroid sets 16 and 17 up to open at the home screen, and apps you start from your app menu appear in the Android window.
- Networking works behind ufw, Omarchy's default firewall: omawaydroid adds only the missing
waydroid0rules and removes only its own on uninstall. - Fast, verified downloads: a fast SourceForge mirror, resumable downloads, and a SHA-256 check on every image. A full install takes about 2.5 minutes on a typical connection.
doctorfinds the common blockers: missing kernel binder, the leftover DKMS module that freezes Omarchy kernels, brokenpython-gbinder, no Wayland session.uninstallreverses everything;--purgeremoves Waydroid and its data too.
Tested on Omarchy (kernel 7.2.8, Hyprland, AMD): Android 17 cold-starts in 19 seconds, and SuperTuxKart runs at 60 FPS, including through ARM translation.
Uses the stock Waydroid package and changes nothing inside it. The network fix is also offered upstream in waydroid/waydroid#2458. MIT licensed.
