Version 0.2.0
Dynamic Cellular Automata (CA) Engine: Self-Managing Rule Cycling 🔄
This release transforms the project from a static Conway's Game of Life (GoL) implementation into a dynamic, self-managing Cellular Automata engine capable of sustaining complex behavior indefinitely. The core feature is the introduction of automatic rule cycling based on live cell density.
Key Changes in 0.2.0
- Self-Regulating Dynamics: The application now actively monitors the live cell density and cycles between two distinct rule sets (Growth and Decay) to prevent the simulation from stagnating or completely collapsing.
- Configurable Rule Sets: The application is no longer limited to a single rule. Users can define both the Growth and Decay rule sets in
config.h.- Default Growth: B36/S236
- Default Decay: B3/S23 (Standard GoL)
- Density Thresholds: New configuration options (
MIN_THRESHOLDandMAX_THRESHOLD) allow users to set the specific cell density percentages that trigger the switch between Growth and Decay phases. - Updated Status Bar: The TUI now displays the currently active rule set (e.g., "Grow" or "Decay") along with the current cell density and density thresholds.
- Refactored Codebase: The core logic has been updated to use the formal Cellular Automata structure, improving clarity and maintainability for future rule expansions.
