  • Added configurable nominal voltage from 60 V to 480 V, with a default of 120 V.
  • Bulb resistance automatically adjusts to maintain rated power at the configured nominal voltage.
  • Voltage-dependent lighting, flickering, and bulb wear scale with the selected nominal voltage.
  • Configuration changes require a server or game restart.

Multiplayer and Dedicated Server Support

  • Improved server-authoritative electrical behavior.
  • Added synchronization of nominal voltage information for client-side lighting effects.
  • Clients correctly display lighting behavior when their local configuration differs from the server configuration.
  • Verified operation and persistence across dedicated server restarts.

Voltage-Dependent Bulb Behavior

  • Incandescent bulbs dim as voltage decreases.
  • Fluorescent, LED, and Grow bulbs exhibit voltage-dependent visual flickering.
  • Undervoltage and overvoltage affect bulb operation and lifespan.
  • Excessive overvoltage can cause immediate bulb burnout.
  • Voltage hysteresis prevents rapid switching near operating thresholds.

Lighting Features

  • Three lighting fixture types: ceiling lamps, wall sconces, and industrial cage fixtures.
  • Four bulb types: Incandescent, Fluorescent, LED, and Grow.
  • Dyeable fixtures supporting all 16 Minecraft dye colors.

Create: Realistic Lighting v1.0.0-alpha4

Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.1
Mod Loader: NeoForge
Release Type: Alpha 4 — Pre-release

Overview

Alpha 4 focuses on crafting recipe modernization, dependency cleanup, and stability verification.

This update replaces the legacy crafting recipes with recipes designed around Minecraft, Create, and Create: Power Grid.

All existing lighting fixtures, bulb types, electrical mechanics, and lighting features remain available.

Alpha 4 is intended to be the final alpha release before the planned stable v1.0.0 release.

What's Changed

New Crafting Recipes

Seven crafting recipes have been introduced or redesigned:

Item | Crafting Output -- | -- Incandescent Bulb | 3 Fluorescent Bulb | 1 LED Bulb | 1 Grow Bulb | 1 Industrial Cage Fixture | 2 Square Flush-Mount Ceiling Light | 2 Wall-Mounted Sconce | 2

All seven recipes are visible through Just Enough Items (JEI) and have been successfully tested in single-player.

The incandescent bulb recipe was also successfully crafted on a dedicated server.

Dependency Cleanup

  • Removed 28 legacy recipe variants.

  • Removed crafting recipe dependencies on EnderIO and Immersive Engineering.

  • Standardized crafting ingredients around Minecraft, Create, and Create: Power Grid.

  • Retained Create: Power Grid as the electrical power system.

Lighting and Electrical Features

The following existing features have been regression-tested:

  • Incandescent voltage-dependent dimming.

  • Fluorescent, LED, and Grow bulb undervoltage behavior.

  • Live electrical readings for voltage and power consumption.

  • ON, OFF, and REDSTONE fixture operating modes.

  • Dyeable industrial fixtures.

  • Extended LED illumination with smooth falloff.

  • Persistent fixture configuration and installed bulbs.

Testing and Validation

Alpha 4 has completed single-player and dedicated-server regression testing.
