Welcome to DeepFileX v3.1.0, the ultra-lightweight, 100% offline local file content search engine.
This release resolves critical Unicode/space path mapping issues and introduces an embedded high-performance PDF engine to deliver near-100% search reliability.

🚀 Key Updates

1. 📄 Embedded Pdfium Engine for Flawless PDF Indexing

  • No More Broken Text: Resolved character fragmentation, spacing glitches, and CMap decompression failures that commonly occurred in the previous parser.
  • Chrome-Grade Reliability: Integrated Google’s official Pdfium FFI parser, boosting PDF text extraction accuracy to over 99%.
  • Zero-Setup Portability: Embedded the 5.5MB pdfium.dll directly inside the binary using include_bytes!. The application remains a single, standalone executable under 10MB without requiring external DLLs.

2. 📁 Seamless Windows Unicode & Space Path Support

  • Unicode Mount Fixed: Resolved the database loading crash on Windows paths containing Korean characters or spaces by migrating back to native Connection::open.
  • Zero Metadata Loss: Replaced the error-prone SQLite SUBSTR logic (which caused UTF-8 byte length vs character count mismatches) with a bulletproof NOT LIKE prefix query, fully preventing index cleanup database loss.

3. 🎨 Unified Brand UI/UX

  • Clean Subsystem: Completely hid the development CMD console window in release builds for a cleaner, native GUI experience.
  • Custom Branding: Replaced the default egui/eframe e icon in the window title bar and Windows taskbar with the official DFX Brand Logo (dfx_logo.png) via runtime pixel injection.
