Gadak 0.1.0 (English edition)

The English edition of Gadak 0.1.0. Every screen is in English, and so are the station names and summaries Gadak writes, whatever language you chat in. It has the same features as the Korean edition (v0.1.0).

First launch

Gadak was made as a class project and has no paid signature from Apple or Microsoft, so the first launch needs one confirmation.

• Mac: move Gadak to Applications and open it, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
• Windows: in the “Windows protected your PC” window, press More info → Run anyway.

The illustrated guide is the install guide (PDF); the same file is inside the disk image and the Windows packages. The full guide is docs/usage-guide.en.md.

Good to know

• The Windows version is a first release. The makers have no Windows PC, so it was checked only under Wine on a Mac and has never been started on a real PC. If it does not start, please open an issue with C:\Users\your name\.gadak\gadak.log.
• Not in the Windows version yet: the floating Gadak button, fetching Claude Code or Codex for you, the Cursor connection and auto-run, and the Claude usage gauge.
• The Intel Mac build was run only under Rosetta.
• It can be installed beside the Korean edition, but the two share the same records (~/.gadak) and port, so run one at a time.
• Chats are stored only on your computer. This build sends usage records nowhere.
• The two Windows files have the same names as the Korean edition’s but are different files. Check yours against this release’s SHA256SUMS.txt.

Verifying a download

SHA256SUMS.txt lists the SHA-256 of every file. On a Mac run shasum -a 256 <file>; on Windows, Get-FileHash <file> -Algorithm SHA256.

처음 열 때

가닥은 과제로 만든 앱이라 Apple과 Microsoft의 유료 서명이 없어요. 그래서 처음 한 번 확인이 필요해요.

• Mac: 가닥을 응용 프로그램 폴더로 옮겨 연 뒤, 시스템 설정 → 개인정보 보호 및 보안 → ‘그래도 열기’.
• Windows: “Windows의 PC 보호” 창에서 ‘추가 정보’ → ‘실행’.

그림이 든 안내는 설치 안내 PDF에 있어요. 디스크 이미지와 Windows 묶음 안에도 같은 파일이 들어 있어요.

알아 둘 것

• Windows 판은 처음 나온 판이에요. 만든 사람들에게 Windows PC가 없어서 Mac의 Wine으로만 확인했고, 진짜 PC에서는 아직 켜 보지 못했어요. 안 켜지면 C:\Users\내 이름\.gadak\gadak.log와 함께 이슈로 알려 주세요.
• Windows 판에는 아직 없어요: 떠 있는 가닥 버튼, Claude Code · Codex를 대신 받아 주는 ‘연결하기’, Cursor 연결과 자동 실행, Claude 사용 한도 게이지.
• Intel Mac용은 Rosetta로만 돌려 봤어요.
• 대화는 내 컴퓨터에만 저장돼요. 이 배포판은 사용 기록을 어디에도 보내지 않아요.

받은 파일 확인하기

SHA256SUMS.txt에 파일마다의 확인 값(SHA-256)이 있어요. Mac은 shasum -a 256 파일, Windows는 Get-FileHash 파일 -Algorithm SHA256으로 견줘요.
