PageTrace v1.0.1
PageTrace v1.0.1
PageTrace v1.0.1 is the first published portfolio release: a deterministic, provenance-first document intelligence system whose answers remain traceable to exact source evidence.
Highlights
- Secure bounded ingestion for PDF, PNG, and JPEG documents.
- Deterministic embedded-text extraction, OCR routing, RapidOCR processing, and positioned structure artifacts.
- Provenance-aware corpus construction and transparent BM25 retrieval evaluation.
- Exact-source extractive QA with page/region/offset citations and explicit abstention.
- Cross-stage quality gates, durable local backend workflows, and an evidence-first web interface.
- Reproducible

v1.0.1 correction
The v1.0.0 candidate was never published because its release workflow detected newly reported vulnerabilities in the older frontend test/build dependency chain. v1.0.1 upgrades to Vite 8.3.0 and Vitest 5.0.1; npm and isolated Python dependency audits report no known third-party vulnerabilities.
Verification
- GitHub Release Candidate workflow passed in full.
- 567 Python tests passed, 3 integration cases skipped, with 90.86% branch-aware coverage.
- Frontend lint, 4 tests, and deterministic production build passed.
- Two clean-wheel portfolio runs produced the same manifest SHA-256:
4ca29cb12b176b3da83c3d7732d1bc6f787c0b66897f23cb0b5dabebe777271f. - Distribution hashes are provided in

Scope limitations
PageTrace v1.0.1 remains a local, single-operator portfolio system—not a remote or multi-user production service. The included synthetic demonstration proves reproducibility and traceability, not general document accuracy. Retrieval is lexical BM25, answers are extractive, and no language or vision-language model is used. Hard parser/workflow resource isolation, TLS termination, remote access, and multi-user authorization are outside this release scope.
