CodaLauncher 0.9.0
CodaLauncher 0.9.0 (prerelease)
v0.9.0: A new look. Home now shows a pixel-art scene for each profile: an aurora night by a frozen lake
for Classic, and the settlers' camp by the fire for Frontier. Coda greets you on Classic, mods show
pixel icons, and the technical details (signature, versions, build) moved into Details.
Classic has a new "Frostlight" style: frosted panels, aurora colours and pixel headings.
Frontier keeps its own wood-and-camp style. Only the appearance changed; installs, paths and saves are untouched.
v0.8.2: Frontier opens in the Frontier look from the first frame, without a flash of the Classic theme.
v0.8.1: Profiles and a clearer Home.
Pick Classic Stable, Classic Nightly or Frontier from cards in the sidebar.
Play has its own bar with live status; your profile's mods show as slots with versions.
Details (what Play does, safety, versions) fold away. Wider layout, readable small text.
Fixed: Nightly showed "Prepare H.O.W.L. to play" even when its runtime was current.
v0.8.0: Frontier look. Selecting Frontier turns the launcher into a pixel-art frontier camp:
wooden panels, bevelled buttons, a camp scene on Home, a pixel moon and a parchment news board.
Classic keeps its midnight look. Only the appearance changes; installs, paths and saves are untouched.
The trust moon now notes when checksums matched; distribution is still not signed.
Release gate now tests the newest published H.O.W.L. against Frontier's live catalog minimum.
v0.7.32: Classic / Frontier play modes. Frontier has its own worlds, mods and settings.
Select Frontier on Home to prepare its required mod automatically through Nightly Play / Install-Repair.
H.O.W.L. 0.0.43 and the published Frontier release are verified before this launcher is published.
Frontier is initially available on Windows Nightly for local singleplayer.
Classic keeps its existing paths and catalog. No existing world or mod is deleted.
Required official mod install/update support from the HW-Mods GitHub catalog.
Sorting Pipes is automatically maintained in Nightly after H.O.W.L. 0.0.38+ compatibility verification.
Downloads require published SHA-256 checksums and valid Minecraft/mod identity before installation.
Modified and duplicate manual mods are preserved. Offline reuse requires checksum-verified installed code.
Includes Windows installer/portable builds and Linux/macOS portable builds.
Existing launcher UI, account, worlds, saves and settings are retained.

CodaLauncher 0.7.29
CodaLauncher 0.7.29 (prerelease)
- Apply the H.O.W.L. midnight/cyan launcher concept to the real Windows interface.
- Add Stable/Nightly sidebar controls using the existing validated Settings flow.
- Show read-only local Worlds for the active profile, without modifying saves.
- Display live preparation status, version checks and Coda's portrait.
- Clearly distinguish local version checks from not-yet-implemented signed-manifest verification.
- Update the cross-platform Avalonia layout while retaining the existing launcher backend.
- Preserve the 0.7.28 staged self-update, startup health check and rollback.
Security note: this release does not yet add signed release manifests.
Windows launcher updates still use the existing SHA-256 verification.
CodaLauncher 0.7.28
CodaLauncher 0.7.28 (prerelease)
- Harden the Reboot CodaLauncher self-update path after reports of the launcher closing or crashing during update.
- Launch and version-check the staged executable before shutting down the working launcher.
- Require a live WebView ready signal after update, then clean up the rollback backup.
- If the new launcher exits or never becomes ready, attempt rollback and reopen the previous executable.
- Log the update stages and failures to %TEMP%/CodaLauncher-update.log and retain failed rollback files.
- Add a Windows end-to-end test that exercises actual staged replacement and headless reboot in an isolated directory.
- Keep Stable, Nightly worlds, resource packs, mods, and player settings untouched.
This release strengthens future self-updates. If an older updater already fails during Reboot,
install 0.7.28 using the Windows setup executable instead of repeating the failing reboot.
CodaLauncher 0.7.27
CodaLauncher 0.7.27 (prerelease)
- Correct the H.O.W.L. Nightly version panel to query official Nightly releases instead of the latest Stable version.
- Show active Nightly and latest published Nightly separately, including a clear UPDATE AVAILABLE or CURRENT status.
- Display CHECK UNAVAILABLE rather than a false update warning when the Nightly release check fails.
- Replace the frozen "Update check has not completed" placeholder with the real check outcome.
- Keep Stable version discovery, installation, saved worlds, and mod installations untouched.
- Add regression tests for 0.0.36 -> 0.0.37 and network-unavailable states.
