  • Signing in with Google, or to an online connector, now opens in a window that fills the screen Pelica is on, instead of a small one.

Pelica 1.3.0: undo what Pelica changed, keep every Retry, and a full voice mode

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 06 Nov 07:20
  • Undo what Pelica changed: a reply that changed files now has an Undo these changes button, and Put back if you change your mind. Your own newer edits are never replaced without asking, and files Pelica created go to the Recycle Bin.
  • Undo covers the files Pelica wrote, edited or deleted itself. Commands it ran are not undone (the reply says so when it ran any), and files over 50 MB are too big to keep a copy of. Restore points last 30 days.
  • Retry keeps every reply: flip between them with the arrows under the reply (2 of 3). Flipping changes the chat, not your files.
  • First start: with no model on this PC, Pelica checks your GPU, RAM and free space, recommends one model, downloads it and loads it.
  • Citations: [1] in a reply is now a button. Hover it to read the passage, click it to open the passage under the reply, with a button to open the file.
  • Voice mode opens full-window, with a big animated circle that follows your microphone and the words as they're read. Fold it down to a bar to see the chat.
  • Pick the voice and speed for voice mode and Read aloud, in voice mode or Settings → Capabilities.
  • Talk over Pelica: a new option that keeps the microphone open while it talks, so just speaking stops it. Use headphones.
  • Fixed: stopping Pelica in voice mode could carry on reading the rest of the old reply.
  • Tags: give chats your own coloured tags from their menu, and click a tag in the sidebar to show only those chats.
  • Select chats: choose Select chats in a chat's menu, or Ctrl-click (Shift-click for a range), to pin, tag or delete many at once. Deleting has an Undo.
  • Settings is tidier: 13 sections instead of 18, and rows that don't apply to your models stay hidden. Context and CQS moved into Capabilities, Phone into Devices, Updates into About, and Experimental and Developer into Advanced.
  • One set of corner sizes across the whole app, in place of more than a dozen slightly different ones.
  • Calmer buttons: nothing shrinks, springs or slides between buttons any more. Hovering or choosing one just fades in a plain grey box.
  • Dropdowns are now Pelica's own menus instead of the plain Windows ones, and every menu works with the arrow keys.
  • Loading a model shows a progress bar over the message box with the time left, and says when it's ready.
  • If the engine stops or a model won't load, a note over the message box says so, with a Restart or Try again button. A failed download has a Try again button too.
  • Chats are grouped by date: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days and Older.
  • Right-click a tag to rename it or pick its colour. Drag a chat onto a tag to tag it, or onto a project on the Projects page to move it there.
  • Drag pinned chats into your own order, or drag a chat onto a pinned one to pin it.
  • Long chats get a mark for each of your messages along the right side: point at it for the list, click one to go there. The button back to the latest message now says Latest.
  • Shorter Settings pages: setup steps, the engine log and older release notes stay folded until you open them.
  • Better first screens for empty Projects and Memory pages.
  • Moving by keyboard shows where you are, the arrow keys move through chats and choices, and setup and voice mode fit small windows.
  • Small details: fields warm up under the pointer, table rows highlight, tooltips fade in, and Copy answers with a check.
  • Light mode: fixed the outline around run boxes, the avatar with no background, and the Models search box. Code box headers no longer use the reply's serif font.

Pelica 1.2.1: signing in opens a small window

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 02 Nov 17:49
  • Signing in with Google, or to an online connector, now opens a small window over Pelica instead of a full browser tab, and it closes by itself once you're signed in. Closing it yourself cancels the sign-in straight away. It's Microsoft Edge (or Chrome) in a compact window, since Google only allows signing in in a real browser; the first time, you sign in to Google there, and it remembers you after that.

Download Pelica-Setup-1.2.1.exe below and run it. Pelica already installed? It will offer this update by itself.

Pelica 1.2.0: chat with your documents, voice conversations, and long chats that reopen instantly

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 02 Nov 17:36
  • Going back to a long chat answers right away: Pelica keeps what the model has already read of chats over about 750 words on the drive, so it doesn't read the whole conversation again after you switch chats, change models or restart. In a test chat of 2,300 tokens, getting back in took 0.07 s instead of 1.2 s, and on big models it saves seconds to minutes. The reply is exactly the one you'd have got without leaving. This works with most mixture-of-experts models; gpt-oss, GLM, DeepSeek V4 and Qwen3.8 still read the chat again for now. Settings → Models → Keep long chats ready shows the space it uses (up to 8 GB) and clears it.
  • Chat with your documents: add folders to a project (Documents → Add folder) and its chats search them. PDFs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, notes and code all work, and PDF pages are read with Windows' own text recognition. The passages that match your question go along with it, and the reply shows which files and pages it used. Click one to open it. Everything stays on your PC.
  • Voice mode: click the sound-wave button next to the microphone and just talk. Pelica answers out loud a sentence at a time while it writes, then listens again. Press Space or Interrupt to cut it off, and Esc to end. It uses Windows' own speech recognition and voices, so nothing is downloaded.
  • Tidier chats: the numbers under a reply (speed, tokens, context) now sit on one clean line instead of a cramped grid, and the side panel's rows no longer break onto two lines.
  • Light mode works properly again: the message box is white instead of dark grey, and buttons are white instead of dark with unreadable letters.
  • In light mode, code in replies is readable again: plain words and the Copy button no longer turn dark on the code's dark box. Command output, diffs and the terminal get the same fix.
  • The first time you open Pelica, it asks you to sign up or log in with Google, so your chats sync between your PCs. Not now skips it, and you can sign in later in Settings → Account. If you're already signed in, you won't see it.

Download Pelica-Setup-1.2.0.exe below and run it. Pelica already installed? It will offer this update by itself.

Pelica 1.1.0: your Pelica account, and Experimental features

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 02 Nov 16:37
  • Sign in to Pelica with your Google account in Settings → Account. Your chats, projects, memory, saved prompts, your name and your instructions then stay the same on every PC you sign in on. They sync through a hidden folder in your own Google Drive: there is no Pelica server, and Pelica can't see your other Drive files.
  • A chat changed on two PCs keeps both versions, and a chat you delete on one PC goes to the Recycle Bin on the others. Syncing happens a few seconds after a change and every 3 minutes, or right away with Sync now. You can turn it off and stay signed in.
  • There's nothing to set up: click Sign in with Google and pick your account in the browser.
  • The sidebar shows your Google picture and name once you sign in.
  • New Settings → Experimental section, for features still being worked on. Brain (the model's experts in 3D) lives there now and is off by default. While it's off, it's hidden from the sidebar, the palette, the tray menu and the Models page.
  • Smoother motion everywhere: buttons give a little when pressed and spring back, toggles slide with a bounce, and hover colours fade instead of snapping.
  • The highlight now slides to what you pick in the sidebar (your chats, Projects, Models) and in Settings' list of sections, the way the 2K / 4K / 8K choices already did.
  • Pages ease in as you switch: Models, Projects, a chat opened from Home, and each section of Settings. The sidebar and side panel slide in when you show them. Menus still open instantly, and Settings → Appearance → Animations turns all of it off.
  • Settings zooms in softly when it opens and fades away when it closes.
  • Your chats and the sidebar's pages are now white instead of grey, and Recents and folder names are easier to read.

Download Pelica-Setup-1.1.0.exe below and run it. Pelica already installed? It will offer this update by itself.

Pelica 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 01 Nov 21:21

Pelica 1.0: projects, memory, and Pelica on your phone

  • Projects: keep related chats together. Every chat in a project gets its instructions and files, and can work in its folder. Open Projects in the sidebar, or move any chat into one from its menu.
  • Memory across chats: ask Pelica to remember something and it will, in every chat from then on. It may also save a lasting fact on its own, always with a note in the chat. See, edit, add or remove what it remembers in Settings → Memory, or turn memory off.
  • Import your chats from ChatGPT or Claude: pick the zip from their data export in Settings → General. Importing the same export again skips the chats you already have.
  • Pelica on your phone: turn it on in Settings → Phone and scan the QR code. Your phone shows the open chat as it is written, and you can send messages, switch chats and answer approvals from it. It works over your Wi-Fi (or Tailscale), with nothing sent over the internet.
  • Online connectors that need an account now have a Sign in button. Your browser opens the service's own sign-in page, and Pelica keeps the sign-in encrypted and renews it by itself.
  • Pictures from connector tools (a screenshot, a chart) show under the tool in the chat, and a model that can see images gets them too. Other models get the text Windows reads in them.
  • The palette (Ctrl+K) has Projects, Memory, Pelica on your phone and Import chats.
  • Fixed: the side panel said "1 tools", and now shows "Sign in" for a connector waiting for one.
  • Settings look like Claude's: a lighter page beside a darker list of sections, finer lines, brighter selection, and buttons and fields that match. Every theme follows, Light included.
  • Choices like 2K / 4K / 8K now slide their highlight to the one you pick, everywhere in the app (it stays still with Animations off).
  • Tidied across the app: one kind of button on a project's page, the same empty-page note on Projects, Models and Brain (Brain no longer says "Reading the model file…" forever with no model), text boxes without a blue glow when typing, and connector cards that say they're stopped without a red outline.

Pelica 0.15.0: models that fit your PC, and a storage manager

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 01 Nov 20:10

Models that fit your PC, and a storage manager

  • Models → Discover starts with models suggested for this PC: the ones Pelica is tested with, marked by whether they run well on your GPU's memory and RAM, with the best fit picked out. One click downloads one (all its parts).
  • A new install's welcome and an empty model menu now take you straight to those suggestions.
  • Before a download starts, Pelica checks the drive has room for it (and the downloads already going). If not, it says how much is needed and which drive has space, instead of filling the disk.
  • Settings → Models → Storage shows each drive's free space and how much of it is models, with Move (to another drive, keeping the model working) and Delete for every model.
  • Moving a model copies it, checks the copy, and only then removes the original. Cancel leaves it where it was.
  • Deleting a model that's too big for the Recycle Bin (anything over about 25 GB on most PCs) now says so and asks before deleting it for good. Before, Windows could delete it for good without asking.
  • The download folder is automatic by default: the models folder on the drive with the most free space. Downloads always show up, even in a folder that isn't in your model folders, and changing model folders no longer needs an engine restart.
  • The "Fits in VRAM" labels in the library now use your own GPU's memory and RAM instead of a 16 GB GPU's.
  • A vision helper file (mmproj) or draft-model file beside a model no longer shows up as a model of its own.

Install: download Pelica-Setup-0.15.0.exe below and run it (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, a processor with AVX2, a GPU with Vulkan drivers). Already on 0.13.4 or later? Pelica offers the update itself (Settings → Updates). The installer isn't signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm (More info → Run anyway).

Pelica 0.14.0: online connectors, tool permissions and an Updates page

Choose a tag to compare

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 01 Nov 15:29

Online connectors, tool permissions and an Updates page

  • Connectors can now be online services, not just programs on your PC: add one by its web address (with a token under Headers if it needs a sign-in). DeepWiki and Context7 are ready to add in one click.
  • Each connector tool can be set to Allow, Ask or Off. Tools that change things now ask you before they run (before, connector tools never asked); tools that say they only read run straight away, and Plan mode only offers those.
  • Bring over connectors you already set up in Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code with one click. The Advanced box also takes their config pasted as it is.
  • When a connector adds or removes tools while it runs, the change shows up right away. Connectors that finish starting after Pelica opens now appear in chats without opening Settings.
  • Settings has its own Updates page: the newest version with Install, when you last checked, and its release notes. About now just shows Pelica and its release notes.
  • Choose when Pelica checks for updates: at start, once a day, or never.
  • Preview versions: turn on to also be offered versions marked as previews on GitHub.
  • Skip this version: Pelica stops mentioning that version at start (a newer one is still announced).
  • A new install opens on a welcome that points to the model library when there is no model yet, instead of on release notes.
  • Pelica is open source under the MIT License (LICENSE in the repository and in the install folder; About says so too).

Install: download Pelica-Setup-0.14.0.exe below and run it (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, a processor with AVX2, a GPU with Vulkan drivers). Already on 0.13.4? Pelica offers the update itself (Settings → Updates). The installer isn't signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm (More info → Run anyway).

Pelica 0.13.4

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 01 Nov 14:52

Pelica is on GitHub

  • Pelica now lives on GitHub: github.com/HumandubleOfficial/Pelica. New versions are published there, and About has a GitHub button.
  • Pelica checks GitHub for a new version when it starts and tells you when one is out; Install in Settings → About downloads it, checks it, and updates Pelica. You can turn the check off there.

Download Pelica-Setup-0.13.4.exe below and run it (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, a processor with AVX2, a GPU with Vulkan drivers). The installer isn't signed yet, so Windows may warn that it doesn't know the publisher: choose More info → Run anyway. Already on Pelica? From this version on it updates itself (Settings → About).

Pelica 0.13.3

@HumandubleOfficial HumandubleOfficial released this 01 Nov 14:48

Starts on a freshly installed Windows

  • Pelica’s engine no longer needs Microsoft’s Visual C++ runtime, so it starts on a freshly installed Windows too (before, it could fail with “VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found”). Same speed and answers as before.

Download Pelica-Setup-0.13.3.exe below and run it (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, a processor with AVX2, a GPU with Vulkan drivers). The installer isn't signed yet, so Windows may warn that it doesn't know the publisher: choose More info → Run anyway.
