Release v4.0.0

Highlights

  • Implement compatibility with pandas v3.x

Dependency changes

The latest release adds compatibility with pandas v3.x. Note that the new pandas version changes dtype-handling of DataFrames, so this may lead to stricter behavior when working with the IamDataFrame.meta frame (e.g., categorization, setting of meta indicators).

The minimum supported version of pandas was bumped to 2.2.0 to simplify testing.

Support of Python 3.10 was dropped because it has reached end of life.
