FAQ

Below are some common problems you might encounter when using this mod and their corresponding solutions. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced user, you can check this page anytime when you run into problems.

Also, before submitting an Issue or asking the author, please make sure to read this page carefully to ensure your question hasn't already been answered, so you can avoid creating unnecessary Issues.

Mod Usage

Something Fells Off

  • Q: Why are some world-generated content, like End islands, features, carvers, and aquifers, not affected by repositioning?

  • A: Some worldgen content is completely generated using integer coordinates. Among these, things like End islands need specific options enabled to be affected. For more details, see Worldgen Reposition Explanation. However, a larger portion, including features, carvers, and aquifers, relies heavily on limited-size integer calculations. Due to technical limitations, they are currently almost impossible to reposition. Just stay tuned for future updates.

  • Q: After I enabled the expanded boundary feature, I teleported really far away, and then the game froze/crashed/blocks stopped rendering/…

  • A: Totally normal! Minecraft still has a lot of distance-related phenomena beyond the vanilla boundaries. You can check out Minecraft Wiki/Java Edition Distance Effects[↗] to see if what you encountered is listed there. If you’re sure the issue you ran into was caused by this mod, then it can basically be considered a bug, and you’re welcome to submit an Issue.

  • Q: I set the worldgen shift and scale factor to huge values, and it generated really weird stuff.

  • A: Same as above. But since there’s very little documentation on this, it’s hard to tell if it’s a bug introduced by the mod. Unless you have other evidence that the world shouldn’t generate this way at real coordinates, just treat it as a vanilla distance effect.

  • Q: I turned off all modification features of the mod (all options left at default), but the world generated is different from a pure vanilla world with the same seed!

  • A: This is very likely a bug introduced by the mod! But please note, according to MC-55596[↗], even in vanilla, worlds generated from the same seed can have minor differences. If you confirm that the inconsistency you observed is always the same in vanilla, you’re also welcome to submit an Issue.

Project Info

  • Q: Can I include this mod in my modpack?

  • A: Yes. But please note:

    • This mod is still under active development, so features and behavior may change.
    • Users of modpacks assume all risks associated with using this mod (save file corruption, game crashes, etc.) themselves.
    • If you include this mod in your modpack, feel free to let me know—I’d be happy to see it being used by more people.
  • Q: Is there a way to donate?

  • A: Not at the moment. I’m a student, and I develop this mod out of passion and curiosity, not for profit. Even if donations were available, I wouldn’t update any faster—school is always my top priority. If you really want to support me, give the project a Star on GitHub or tell other enthusiasts about my mod; that’s already the biggest encouragement for me.

  • Q: Does this mod follow semantic versioning?

  • A: Yes. Starting from version 0.4.0, the versioning follows Semantic Versioning:

    • Major version: significant architecture changes or incompatible updates
    • Minor version: new features added (backward compatible)
    • Patch version: bug fixes and tweaks

However, since this project is still actively being developed, before the 1.0.0 release, the major version usually won’t increase even if there are backward-incompatible changes. For specific plans, see the Project Roadmap.
