Inbox Pilot 1.5.0
- Gmail's header shows "with Inbox Pilot" and the Inbox Pilot icon beside the Gmail logo; click it to open the panel. It fits itself to the space (one line, stacked, or icon only) and follows Gmail's light or dark theme.
Inbox Pilot 1.4.0
- Settings, Privacy & permissions: every permission Inbox Pilot holds (drafts & organizing, Calendar, rule sync, desktop notifications, each webhook site) is listed and can be turned off. Rules tab: Turn off sync, Revoke access per webhook destination.
- "Show me what it can do" (Assistant tab and after setup) re-runs the first-run tour in Gmail any time.
- Turning on drafts & organizing is no longer re-requested on every Google connect once you turned it off.
Inbox Pilot 1.3.0: a guided first answer
Inbox Pilot introduces itself
After a fresh install and setup, the first Gmail tab you look at opens the Inbox Pilot panel and asks "What can you do?" for you. The answer is a short tour of every feature with an example question for each, tailored to what you have connected (it says how to turn on drafts or Calendar if they are off), and it doubles as a check that ChatGPT and Gmail both work. Ask "What can you do?" any time for the same tour.
It happens once, in one tab, and only on new installs: updating does not open the panel.
Everything from 1.2.0 (Calendar and Rules) is included.
Inbox Pilot 1.2.0: Calendar and Rules
Inbox Pilot 1.2.0 brings two features since 1.0.0: Google Calendar, and rules that run on their own.
Calendar (optional)
- "Put my flights in my calendar": events from bookings and appointments, with times as the email states them (a flight departs in one time zone and lands in another), the details for the day, and a link back to the email. You click Add on each, with Undo.
- "Am I free Thursday afternoon?" checks your primary calendar.
- Nobody is invited; existing events are never changed. Connect it under Settings, Connections.
Rules (optional)
- Automations you approve once: a Gmail filter, an optional yes/no question ChatGPT answers per email, and fixed actions (label, archive, star, mark read or important, Trash, desktop notification, or a webhook to ntfy, Home Assistant, n8n, Discord or Slack).
- New mail is handled about once a minute while Chrome is open; mail that arrived while it was closed is caught up later.
- Test on recent mail shows what a rule would match without changing anything. Daily limits per rule. Activity log with Undo.
- Create, change, pause or delete rules in Settings, Rules, or by asking in Gmail; every change is a card you confirm.
- Optional sync between your computers through a hidden app-data folder in your own Google Drive. The browser online longest runs the rules; another takes over within about 3 minutes if it goes quiet.
- At your ChatGPT plan's usage limit, only rules that ask ChatGPT pause until it resets; nothing is skipped.
Fixes
- When the extension is updated under an open Gmail tab, the panel now offers Reload Gmail instead of a button that did nothing.
