Download Engine 3.19.0 adds BitTorrent v2 and hybrid support, optional torrent transports, connection visibility and interface binding. It also includes the reliability and interface fixes prepared since 3.16.0.
Torrent updates
- Open v1, v2 and hybrid torrents, including full SHA-256
btmhmagnets. Select files and keep verified progress through Pause, Resume, Stop all and recovery. - Optional MSE peer encryption, uTP connections and HTTP/HTTPS web seeds. The Peers list shows each connection's actual transport and encryption state.
- Optional VPN/network interface binding covers torrent traffic and DNS. If the selected interface disappears, torrents stop instead of falling back to another connection. Ordinary file and video downloads keep their own network settings.
- New profiles leave uploading, incoming connections and UPnP off. Enabling incoming connections or UPnP requires confirmation; existing saved choices are preserved.
- Bounded metadata, hash-proof memory, disk work and concurrent workers; updated the uTP buffer dependency to ringbuf 0.5.2.
Reliability and interface fixes
- Extension settings save as one transaction, preserve unsaved edits and keep Save visible in smaller windows.
- Stop selected works for seeding torrents. Saved speed limits no longer revert when a stale refresh completes.
- Reduced unnecessary progress database writes and fixed cancellation/cleanup around torrent transfers.
- Renamed the crash-report action to “Export report” and updated the README, guides and website.
Downloads
Choose the Windows installer or portable ZIP, the Apple Silicon or Intel macOS ZIP, or the Linux x64 archive. Every desktop package includes native FFmpeg with the corresponding source and notices. Separate Chrome, Edge and Firefox extension ZIPs, the matching source ZIP and SHA-256 checksums are also attached.
Install the browser extension from the Chrome Web Store (also for Edge and Brave) or Firefox Add-ons. Store releases can arrive separately; the attached ZIPs match desktop version 3.19.0. The README and website now link to both stores, and desktop packages include the offline torrent guide.
Windows packages are unsigned. macOS packages are ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarized. Linux requires the desktop dependencies listed in the platform guide. Browser extension ZIPs are for manual/developer loading; the Firefox ZIP is unsigned.
Torrent safety and compatibility
Use torrents at your own risk. Peers can see your IP address, and downloaded files may be unsafe. Piece verification and MSE encryption do not provide anonymity or establish that a file is safe. Interface binding requires an existing VPN or network connection; it does not install one. uTP uses CUBIC rather than LEDBAT, and automatic UPnP mapping remains TCP-only.
Profiles that store v2/hybrid magnets require 3.19.0 or newer. Profiles that have enabled interface binding require 3.18.0 or newer. Back up your profile before downgrading.
