Added

  • To further reduce API calls, the latest release of the target connector template is downloaded and cached locally under in your user folder.
    • Windows: C:\Users\<username>\<vscode-version>\extensions\connectorteam.connectorgenerator-<version>/cache
    • macOS: ~/.vscode/extensions/connectorteam.connectorgenerator-<version>/cache
    • Linux: ~/.vscode/extensions/connectorteam.connectorgenerator-<version>/cache
  • The extension now scans the local cache directory for all available versions reducing scaffolding time by using cached versions and eliminating redundant
    downloads by checking if the required version already exists in the cache before proceeding.
  • Versions are sorted using semantic versioning (semver) to ensure proper ordering.

For development purposes:

  • Added User Prompt for version selection:
    • Users are prompted to select a version from a dropdown menu using a quick pick UI.
    • If no selection is made, the latest version is automatically used as the default.
  • Dynamic Template Handling Based on Selected Version:
    • The selected version's folder is used as the base for template scaffolding.
      This ensures users can create connectors based on any locally cached version.
  • In case no version is selected or if the version folder doesn't exist, the system gracefully falls back to the latest available version.
  • The option to select a version is configurable from the configuration by setting enableVersionSelectionForDevelopmentPurposes. The default value is set to false.
    • If toggled, a statusbar item is added allowing you to easily open and manage the cache.
