v0.0.7 — Final release
This is the final release of dsh-paste-to-path.
DSH now provides an official generic attachment pipeline with background upload, persistence, a unified attachment rail, Agent-readable paths, and Sidebar previews. The compatibility gap that originally justified P2P has been closed, so no further releases are planned.
What remains
- Take over DSH Native attachments — opt into the complete classic path-backed P2P workflow.
- Turn long pasted text into an attachment — keep long-text conversion independently available.
- Configure the long-text threshold as a subordinate parameter of long-text conversion.
Native ownership is the default. Files and images use the official DSH pipeline unless takeover is explicitly enabled.
Final compatibility work
- Supports the current DSH session model used by
0.1.6. - Makes Native and classic P2P attachment ownership mutually exclusive.
- Redirects the built-in file picker into P2P when takeover is enabled.
- Preserves the classic arbitrary-file, Host-path, image-preview, and Windows Explorer fallback workflow.
- Keeps long-text conversion working through either the Native or classic pipeline.
Verified with 22 passing automated tests and live Web UI checks.
Users maintaining older DSH installations without official generic attachments can pin v0.0.6.
dsh-paste-to-path v0.0.6
What was wrong
After one attachment was already in the Dock, pasting another image could send it to DSH's built-in image rail instead. In some setups, that made the second image impossible to send.
What changed
Paste to Path now recognizes paste events from anywhere inside the composer, including an existing attachment reference chip. Repeated pastes stay in the Paste to Path Dock and continue to be passed to the Agent as local paths.
Verification
- Added a regression test for pasting a second image after the first attachment.
- All 17 automated tests pass.
Compatibility
This release targets DeepSeek Harness 0.1.2-rc.1.
dsh-paste-to-path v0.0.5
What's changed
DSH 0.1.2 support
- Supports the Lexical composer and session-scoped
useInputstores. - Uses the current authenticated Remote API for opening Host paths.
- Fixes insertion and removal when a draft contains multiple path references.
Clear ownership controls
Four new settings let Paste to Path coexist with other upload plugins:
capturePastecaptureDropshowPickershowDock
Disabling an entry now unregisters its listener or UI slot completely.
Route security and lifecycle
- All custom Web routes now use DSH Connection authentication and Host/Origin checks.
- Route registrations are owned and disposed by the plugin's Cordis effect.
- Partial route setup is rolled back if registration fails.
Compatibility
This release targets DeepSeek Harness 0.1.2-rc.1.
For DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 through 0.1.0-rc.8, continue using dsh-paste-to-path@0.0.4.
Thanks to @Fro2en12 for the detailed coexistence and lifecycle report in #3.
dsh-paste-to-path v0.0.4
Fixes the attachment picker layout after DSH client plugin reloads.
- Lets the DSH client module loader own and reload the plugin stylesheet via
data-plugin-css. - Keeps the native file input hidden independently, so
Choose Files / No file chosencannot leak into the composer if stylesheet loading is disrupted. - Does not change attachment storage, path serialization, or model/tool behavior.
Verified on DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 with real browser cold-load/reload checks, plus Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows CI on Node.js 22 and 25.
dsh-paste-to-path v0.0.3
Stability release
This release keeps every attachment on the path-backed Dock while improving compatibility and clipboard fallback behavior across DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 through rc.8.
Fixed
- Register both the rc.6 list-slot
idand the rc.7+ keyed settings namespace. The same package now loads on rc.6, rc.7, and rc.8 without thesettings.plugin.item requires options.idfailure. - Treat normal and zero-byte clipboard
Fileobjects as attachment candidates before they fall through to DSH's native image-only intake. - Accept explicit
file:URIs and absolute paths only after the DSH Host confirms that each file exists. - Make path-text conversion transactional. If any candidate path is unavailable, the original clipboard text is pasted normally with no attachment error and no partial conversion.
- Add a universal paperclip file picker as the reliable fallback when a browser does not expose file bytes.
- Add a guarded Windows localhost fallback that reads Explorer's
FileDropList; remote, LAN, Tailscale, and reverse-proxy clients never access the Host clipboard.
Windows testing requested
The Windows-specific FileDropList branch has passed automated tests and security-boundary checks on GitHub's Windows runners, but the maintainers do not currently have a Windows desktop available for a real Explorer → Edge/Chrome paste test. Windows users are especially welcome to report results or contribute improvements in Issue #2.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-paste-to-pathOr install this exact GitHub release:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Johnny-xuan/dsh-paste-to-path#v0.0.3Then restart DSH Web.
Verification
- 12 automated tests pass.
- CI passes on Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu with Node.js 22 and 25.
- Real DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 Web loading and ordinary-text paste fallback were manually verified on macOS.
dsh-paste-to-path v0.0.2
Highlights
- One path-backed attachment Dock for images, PDFs, Office files, archives, code, logs, long text, and other formats.
- A universal paperclip picker, drag and drop, editable text attachments, image previews, and Host-path references.
- Bring your own tools: the plugin delivers a stable Host path without spoofing model capabilities or binding a fixed vision/document tool.
- DSH rc.7+ uses the official third-party settings scope. DSH rc.6 remains supported through profile configuration.
Windows Explorer / Issue #2
- Accepts both normal and zero-byte placeholder File objects before they can fall through to DSH's native image intake.
- Recognizes explicit file URIs and absolute paths that exist on the DSH Host.
- On a Windows Host reached directly through localhost, can recover Explorer's FileDropList when the browser hides file bytes.
- Remote, LAN, Tailscale, and reverse-proxy clients never read the Host clipboard; use the plugin paperclip button or drag and drop instead.
- Registers both the rc.6 list-slot id and the rc.7+ keyed namespace, so the same GitHub release loads across DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 through rc.8.
Install this exact release
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Johnny-xuan/dsh-paste-to-path#v0.0.2Then restart DSH Web.
Note: npm 0.0.2 was published before the final rc.6 slot-compatibility correction, and npm does not allow an existing version tarball to be overwritten. rc.6 users should install this GitHub release. The npm build remains suitable for rc.7/rc.8.
Verification
- 12 automated tests pass.
- GitHub Actions passes on Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu with Node.js 22 and 25.
- The release was loaded in a real isolated DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 Web profile with no plugin errors or browser console warnings.
