FeetBrowser — what's new
A lot has changed since the first release. The short version: videos play, sound works, images actually show up, pages load without freezing, and the whole thing is faster.
🎬 Video playback
Play videos with sound — H.264 video with AAC audio, decoded entirely by the browser itself.
Motion JPEG video plays too, with a proper transport bar (play/pause/scrub).
Animated GIFs finally animate.
🔊 Sound
The browser can now play audio — MP3, AAC, and uncompressed PCM in MP4/MOV/AVI/WAV.
No speakers? No problem — it stays silent but keeps working.
🖼️ Images
Visit an image URL directly and you'll see the picture, not a wall of raw bytes.
Images that a page creates dynamically (like a site's banner) now load.
Images render properly instead of showing [img] placeholders.
🚀 Faster, smoother
Scrolling no longer freezes — drag the scrollbar or scroll fast and the page keeps up smoothly.
Pages load off the UI thread, so even heavy sites (like discord.com) no longer freeze the whole browser for ten seconds.
Real-world sites work much better now — far fewer JavaScript errors, so pages behave the way they're supposed to.
🗂️ Tabs & interface
Drag a tab along the strip to reorder your tabs.
A handy hamburger menu to start from.
The reload button uses a cleaner refresh arrow.
🛠️ Reliability
Fixes for page hangs, X11 connection retries, audio clock timing, and several things that could lock up or stall.
