Jadyx 0.3.10.3 Beta
Jadyx 0.3.10.3
A stability release. It fixes several crashes and a graphics fault that could take a game down mid-session, and adds diagnostics that make future reports easier to act on.
Compatibility
- Games that crashed the emulator on a bad GPU command stream now keep running: out-of-range GPU writes, inline uploads and sync point signals are dropped and logged instead of reading or writing outside their tables.
- Draws that use a different stencil state per face no longer fail with a device error or a crash.
Changes
- Fix: GPU writes past the address space no longer take the emulator down.
- Fix: Inline uploads whose destination lies past the address space are dropped before they are touched.
- Fix: Sync point signals with an out-of-range id are ignored instead of writing outside the manager.
- Fix: Pipelines for draws with split stencil faces stay cached, so they no longer fail the command list or get rebuilt on every draw.
- Fix: Two draws that differ only in the stipple of generated lines no longer share one pipeline.
- Diagnostics: the log now names the first command that makes a command list fail, and lists every buffer or texture of 128 MiB or more, so a sudden memory jump has an owner.
- Experimental: pipeline key folding (
pso_fold) is available as a boot option. It is off by default and does not change anything unless enabled.
Known issues
- The Ethernet/Wi-Fi label in Device Portal can be wrong on Xbox Series. This is a platform limitation.
- Cold pipeline compilation can still cause stutter the first time a new area or effect is seen.

New: move your saves with the Jadyx Portal
Each game in the Jadyx Portal now has a Save tab. Open the portal, go to Library,
pick a game and open Save.
- Download save gets the game's save as a
.zip, up to 512 MiB. It works while another
upload is running. - Load save takes a
.zip,.7zor.rarmade in Jadyx, on another console or on a PC. On
Eden or yuzu, right-click the game, choose Open Save Data Location and compress what is
inside. On Ryujinx, use thebis/user/save/<number>/0folder. The tab has a guide to how the
archive should be laid out. - Your current save is protected. Every file in the archive is checked before anything is
written, and the new save only replaces the old one once it is complete. The previous save is
kept as a copy on the console, and if the load fails your save stays as it was. - What gets rejected: archives with a password, game or update files (
.nsp,.xci), saves
of other games, unsafe paths, file names the console doesn't accept, and archives over 1 GiB or
8192 files. The tab says which file or game caused the problem.
Graphics
- Per-vertex textures now draw. Batched sprites and text can choose their texture per vertex.
The shaders that do this were discarded, so those sprites and text were missing. - Block-linear surface layout fixed. The DMA copies, the inline upload engine and the texture
cache now agree on the block height of small surfaces. Textures the game ships already laid out
for the GPU, such as UI atlases, no longer show only one of every four columns. - Back-face stencil masks. Two-sided stencil draws whose faces use different masks now use the
right masks on each face. Before, a back-face Replace wrote all bits and broke later passes
that test the stencil. - Fewer graphics driver faults. Some shaders made the console's graphics driver fault while
their pipeline was being built, because of how resource handles were created in the shader.
Handles with a constant binding and index are now created once, at the start of the shader.
Fixes
- Save thumbnails. The profile selector asks for them through a command that was not
implemented. Thumbnails can now be loaded, cleared and checked, and storing one now writes it
under the right game instead of discarding it. A save with no thumbnail returns an empty one. - CPU math. The
FRECPSandFRSQRTSinstructions returned NaN for zero and infinity, where
ARM defines 2.0 and 1.5. Normalizing a zero-length vector depends on these results and no longer
produces invalid values. - Jadyx Portal:
- A finished transfer no longer shows as still running, for games, updates, DLC, keys and
firmware. - The file you picked is cleared when the queue finishes.
- If the console refuses a save download, the Save tab shows the error.
- A finished transfer no longer shows as still running, for games, updates, DLC, keys and
Known issues
- Per-vertex textures, partly covered. Strips, fans and per-instance streams draw with a
single texture, and indirect draws with these shaders are skipped. - Pop-in in some engines. In games built on one family of engines, objects and parts of the
scenery pop in and out as the camera moves. - Memory limit. Some games reach the 5 GB (5120 MiB) that Dev Mode gives an app in Game mode.
Permafrost keeps more of them running, but heavy games can still stutter while it swaps. - Frame generation artifacts. Fast-moving edges and some HUD elements can show ghosting with
frame generation on.

Changes
- New shaders in Settings → Graphics now defaults to Balanced instead of
Skip (full). Skipping every draw while its shader builds left missing objects and effects
in many games. - New shaders now does what each option says:
- Wait always waits for the shader. Before, it skipped draws once the frame had waited a
few milliseconds, just like Balanced. - Balanced is unchanged.
- Skip (full) never waits.
- Wait always waits for the shader. Before, it skipped draws once the frame had waited a

Jadyx 0.3.10.0 Beta
Game compatibility
See game compatibility for console test results, community reports and known limitations.
Heads up: the D3D12 renderer was fully refactored in this release. The work went into
getting the renderer where we want it, not into game compatibility, so some games that
worked in 0.3.9.0 may regress. Please report them.
4K output
- New: output at the TV's resolution, up to 4K. Image upscaling in
Settings → Graphics (or per game) enlarges the picture with sharp, balanced or soft
FSR 1, or plain bilinear. The output size can change while the game runs. - The library and menus are drawn at 4K too, and menus and Pulse panels scale correctly above
1080p.
Frame generation (experimental)
- Jadyx can add in-between frames, so a game running at 20 FPS looks like 30. It runs at 1080p
and turns FSR off. Turn it on in Settings → Graphics, or per game. - It is still experimental and can show artifacts in some games: if it does, turn it off and
report it.
New graphics settings
- Settings → Graphics, with an override for each game and a Graphics page in the
in-game menu:- New shaders: whether the game skips, waits or balances while a shader is being built.
- GPU Fence: Immediate is the fastest; Safe, Balanced, Wait and Accurate are more exact
but can lower the FPS. - GPU command thread: sends GPU commands on a separate thread. On by default.
- Advanced options per game: anisotropic filtering, texture quality (memory saver or
full), texture memory limit, GPU accuracy, shader build threads and console mode (docked or
handheld). They apply the next time the game starts and can be reset with one button. - Game clock at 90%, per game. It slows the game's clock slightly, which can help games
that drop to a lower frame rate when they fall behind. - If Jadyx runs as an App instead of a Game, it now says so at start and explains how
to change it in Dev Home.
Graphics
- Tessellation is now emulated. The Series GPU drew nothing for tessellated geometry, so
terrain, water and models that use it were missing. Jadyx now runs it in compute shaders. - Many rendering fixes found by a new console test suite:
- fixed-function state the Series GPU lacks is now emulated: custom index restart values,
inline index draws, point sizes, alpha test, sample masks, clamp-to-border mirroring and
lines and rectangles; - exact clears for integer targets;
- resolves, blits and copies for integer, depth and multisampled images, including copies
between multisampled images and their single-sample versions; - BGRA vertex colors with red and blue swapped, BC2 alpha, slices of 3D images and objects
that vanished after rasterization was turned back on; - new or fixed shader instructions: IMAD, IMUL, SUATOM, F2I and BAR, and undefined registers
now read as zero.
- fixed-function state the Series GPU lacks is now emulated: custom index restart values,
- Games that read back a texture they just rendered to with a different format no longer show
stale colors. - Fixed cases where the game read GPU results before the GPU had written them.
Performance
- Smoother frame pacing. The GPU thread and the game's vsync no longer wait for the TV, a
game asking for 20 FPS keeps the pace of 30 when it can, and threads are pinned to the
console's cores. - Fewer stutters on new shaders. Shaders build on more threads, and while a shader is
still building the draw can be skipped instead of freezing the game. Loading screens build
the shader cache on every CPU core. - Less CPU time per draw. Draws that use the same textures reuse their descriptors,
unchanged state is no longer prepared again, and the GPU no longer copies a sampled color
target before every draw. - Faster texture loading. BC textures are decoded and large textures unswizzled on the
GPU, uploads are staged with less copying, and textures and staging memory are no longer
zeroed when they are created. - Less memory for ASTC textures. Alpha masks are stored in a smaller format, and the top
level of very large ASTC textures can be left out. - The final image is presented on its own queue.
Memory
- New: Permafrost. When the console runs short of memory, Jadyx writes the game memory
that has gone cold to disk and reads it back when the game touches it, instead of closing.
Heavy games that used to run out of memory after a few minutes keep running. It writes in
batches, pauses the game safely while it reads pages back, and its thresholds are tuned so
it only steps in when memory is really short. Expect short stutters while it swaps. - Memory coordinator. Permafrost, the texture cache and the JIT now share the free memory
under one coordinator, so they no longer fight each other when it runs low. - The texture cache grows into memory the app is not using and gives memory back first from
half-empty heaps. Render targets replaced by a new resolution are released, and their
contents carry over to the new size. - JIT code memory is mapped in larger chunks and given back under pressure. Pipelines that
are not in use drop their compiled code and reload it from disk when needed.
Games and content
- The Jadyx Portal now imports XCI and NRO games, not only NSP.
- Fixed updates that were rejected because part of their data needs the base game to be read.
- A file that is empty or was cut short while copying is now reported as "The file is empty
or incomplete. Copy or download it again." instead of a generic invalid package error.
Fixes
- Loading screens keep moving, and resuming a Pulse session shows the JIT progress.
- Fixed the library closing when a title could not be laid out as text.
Known issues
- Pop-in in some engines. In games built on one family of engines, objects and parts of
the scenery pop in and out as the camera moves. - Memory limit. Some games reach the 5 GB (5120 MiB) that Dev Mode gives an app in Game
mode. Permafrost keeps more of them running, but heavy games can still stutter while it
swaps. - Frame generation artifacts. Fast-moving edges and some HUD elements can show ghosting
with frame generation on.

Jadyx 0.3.9.0 Beta
Game compatibility
See game compatibility for console test results, community reports and known limitations.
More games boot and render
- Fixed games crashing before their first frame. A game that reserves several GiB of empty
memory at startup had that memory counted twice and hit the console's memory limit. It is
now counted once, and those games boot. - Fixed missing and wrong textures. Some shaders pick their texture depending on a
condition. Jadyx ignored the condition and sampled the wrong texture, or none at all. - Fixed 3D scenes not drawing. In some games only the 2D elements and the HUD were visible
because every 3D vertex was clipped. - Fixed shaders that crashed while being translated when a texture slot was left empty.
Performance
- 96.5% less JIT compilation during loads. Jadyx now remembers far more of the game code
it compiled in earlier sessions (twice as many blocks per core) and compiles it ahead of
time with a bigger budget, so large games no longer compile hundreds of thousands of blocks
while loading. This also happens when a game resumes from a Pulse session, which used to
compile the whole game again in its first minute. - Faster CPU emulation without fastmem. Atomic memory accesses are now compiled inline
instead of going through a locked slow path. On the console each emulated core uses about
18% less CPU time per frame. - Small compute dispatches are split across the GPU. A game held back by one long compute
dispatch went from about 12 to about 29 FPS. This is new: if a game breaks, add
cs_split=1toboot.cfgto turn it off, and report it. - Bigger JIT code cache: 256 MiB per core instead of 128. Large games no longer refill the
cache and recompile everything during their load. Memory is used only as the cache fills.
When the console runs short of memory, the cache stops growing instead of being cleared. - Shaders are kept between sessions. Translated shaders are saved per game, so the second
time a game runs it skips most of the shader translation work. - Smoother frame delivery. Display buffers are handed back to the game in the same vsync,
and the game no longer stalls while the GPU catches up on certain events. - Less CPU wasted on timers. A timer wait no longer keeps a whole core spinning.
- Releases are now built with link-time optimization and for the Series CPU (AVX2).
Graphics
- Transform feedback is now emulated. Games that use it for skinned models no longer show
them flat or stretched. - Stencil fixes: stencil is now kept in scaled depth-stencil copies and in 8-bit stencil
textures, and shaders can read it. This fixes missing shadows, outlines and masks in some
games. - Fixed depth read back with wrong values, depth rendered to the wrong mip level, and 2D
textures that games sample as 3D or cube textures. - Samplers that filter by minimum or maximum value, which the Series GPU cannot create, are
emulated in the shader. - New shader instructions and fixes: 32-bit compare-and-swap atomics and quad shuffles.
- Hitch detector. The performance overlay shows the last hitch and its likely cause
(shaders, JIT, file reads, GPU waits...). It is also written to the log.
Network
- New offline mode, on by default. In Settings → System, it hides the network from
games so they do not hang while trying to connect. Each game can override it from the
in-game menu.
Storage
- Jadyx Portal: choose where games are installed. When you import NSP games, the Portal
now lets you pick Internal storage or Dev storage (D:), and shows the free space on
both. Dev storage (D:\DevelopmentFiles\Jadyx\games) leaves much more room than the app's
own folder. The library lists those games and can remove them. Updates, DLC and covers work
the same. - Storage reads are now paced like real Switch media. Intros and movies that froze or ran out
of sync play correctly, and loads that ran behind a movie are no longer slowed down.
Clearer launch errors
- When a game needs a newer firmware, Jadyx names the firmware it needs and the one you have.
- A base game that is only a small stub tells you to install its update.
- A firmware that is newer than your keys now says so on import, instead of reporting a
generic key error.
Fixes
- Pulse works in more games. Games that open a system applet (for example the network
connection or error screen) and leave it open no longer hang or block saving the Pulse
session. - Fixed games freezing after an error message was shown.
- The Jadyx Portal no longer keeps the console busy when it is idle.
Known issues
- Pop-in in some engines. In games built on one family of engines, objects and parts of
the scenery pop in and out as the camera moves. - Memory limit. Some games now boot but reach the 5 GB (5120 MiB) that Dev Mode gives an
app in Game mode, and close when they run out.

Jadyx 0.3.8.6 Beta
New
- Mii editor. Open it from Settings → System → Mii editor to create and edit Miis. It
needs your firmware installed. - Firmware version and key generation in Settings. The file manager and the settings home
now show which firmware and keys are installed. - Saves shipped as mods. A mod archive that holds a save is now offered as a save, not
installed as a mod. Jadyx warns you that it replaces your save and keeps a backup of the old
one inmods/save-backups. Play the game once first so it has a save to replace. - Clearer message for mods made for Skyline or ARCropolis. Those mods are not supported
yet. Jadyx now says which loader they need instead of rejecting them as "not a mod" or
installing only part of them.
Jadyx Portal
- Shorter connection code: 4 digits instead of 8. It still expires after five minutes.
- The portal screen on the console is easier to read: the address and code on the left, the
actions on the right. - Fixed firmware imports with game files mixed in. A firmware folder that also contains game
files now imports the firmware and leaves the game files out, with a warning saying so. - Firmware that could not be read because of missing or wrong keys now says it is a key problem.
- The console shows the import steps of keys and firmware on the TV.
- Fixed an error logged at every portal start after deleting a game whose upload had finished.
Fixes
- Fixed "Back to home" sessions sometimes not resuming. When you picked the game again, the
resume could fail and the game booted from the start instead. It now resumes where you left it.

Jadyx 0.3.8.5 Beta
Performance
- Smoother games. Jadyx now spreads more of its graphics work across the console, which
helps most in heavy scenes. For example, in one of the most demanding open-world areas we
test, the frame rate went from about 23 to 27–29 fps. Games that already ran well keep
running well; how much you gain depends on the game. - Steadier when memory runs low. Games that use a lot of memory should slow down less.
- Fewer stutters the more you play. Jadyx remembers the graphics each game has already
shown, so the next time you play they are ready sooner and there are fewer pauses.
Multiple controllers (experimental)
- Play with friends on one console, up to 8 players. Each controller you connect is a
new player, in the order you connect them. Before, only one controller worked. - Player 1 keeps their controller when someone else connects or disconnects.
- This is new and still being tested, so some games may not work well with several
controllers yet.
If controllers misbehave: go to Settings → System → Multiple controllers and turn it
off. Jadyx goes back to one controller, like before. The change applies the next time you
start a game.
Jadyx Portal
- Fixed firmware imports failing with "The package contains game files". Some valid
firmware (for example 22.1.0) was rejected by mistake. It now imports normally.
Other
- The bug report form is easier to fill in.
- Updated community game compatibility reports.

Jadyx 0.3.8.0 Beta
Graphics
- Fixed the flickering and slowdown that came with 0.3.7.0. The local memory fix in
0.3.7.0 also sent shaders that did not need it through the GPU buffer pool. In some games
that kept the GPU at 80–90% and made pixels flicker when the pool ran out of room. Those
shaders are now left out, and the games that do need the pool still render correctly. - The pool now grows on demand. It starts small and doubles while shaders are short of
room, up to 128 MiB, without recompiling any shader. Games that do not need it pay
nothing.
Updates
- Guided update from a phone or PC. Xbox Dev Mode does not let an app install its own
update, so Jadyx now guides the install instead. When a new version is out, the library
shows a notice (Y opens the update page, X hides it). Choosing Install starts the Jadyx
Portal and shows its address and connection code. In the browser, the portal opens on
Update Jadyx: one click downloads the verified package and opens the Xbox Device
Portal, where you install it over the current version. After the restart, the library
confirms the new version. - Reworked update page: it only shows what can be done right now, each row explains
itself, and X or B closes it. - Release notes now come from the GitHub release.
- A downloaded package that fails validation is discarded and downloaded again instead of
being resumed.
Jadyx Portal
- More reliable address in Settings → File manager → Network connection: only
addresses the console really holds are listed, and the one with internet access comes
first. A169.254.x.xaddress (the router gave the console no address) shows a warning. - Fresh address on every start: the address is read again each time the server starts,
so it no longer fails after the Wi-Fi reconnects. - If port 8080 is taken or refused, the portal uses 8081–8084 and shows the address with
the port it actually got. - The portal says why it failed. Each fault has its own message: port in use, port
blocked, address lost, Wi-Fi disconnected. If the console leaves the network while the
portal runs, it stops and tells you. After three failures in a row, it suggests checking
the cable or Wi-Fi, or restarting the console. - Fault log: every portal fault is saved to
LocalState\jadyx\log\jx_portal\portal_faults.log, with the time, version, error and
network adapters at that moment. Nothing is sent anywhere: it is included when you export
your logs for a bug report.
Known issues
- The connection type in Network connection can say Ethernet while the console is on
Wi-Fi. The console does not report the link type reliably to apps. The address it shows
still works.

Settings → File manager, and add games from an external folder or USB drive, or copy
them to the app'sLocalState\gamesfolder with the Device Portal file explorer.
A newer version installs over the previous one and keeps your games, saves and settings. Do
not uninstall to update: uninstalling deletes them.

Jadyx 0.3.7.0 Beta
Graphics
- Pixel shaders with large local memory now render on Series. The Series driver loses big
private arrays in pixel shaders, which broke effects that depend on them (object picking and
highlighting among them). At startup Jadyx draws one test pixel; if the array is lost, those
shaders keep their local memory in a GPU buffer pool instead. It applies to every game that
needs it, not to a list of specific shaders. Advanced:ps_scratch=auto|uav|nativein
boot.cfgoverrides the test. - Render targets of different sizes in one draw are now matched to a common size before
drawing, so that draw renders correctly.
Jadyx Portal
- Library pane: browse your games with their covers from a PC or phone.
- Upload updates and DLC for a game straight from the browser.
- Delete games from the Portal, with the same two-step confirmation as on the console.
- Export logs: download the
LocalState\jadyx\logfolder as one compressed archive. The
download resumes if the connection drops, so attaching logs to a bug report no longer needs
the Device Portal file explorer.
Library
- Delete game in the game options: removes the game with its saves, updates, DLC and Pulse
sessions, after a second confirmation. - Delete a single copy: when the same game is in the library more than once (for example
internal storage and a USB drive), you can remove one copy and keep the saves, updates and
DLC for the other. Deleting the internal copy no longer fails when another copy is on USB. - Faster refresh after content changes: installing or removing an update, DLC or game only
rereads that game. The others keep their titles and versions instead of loading again. - Game titles keep filling in while the file manager (where the Portal runs) is open.
- The portal is called "Jadyx Portal" everywhere, and Microsoft's is spelled out as "Xbox
Device Portal".
Controls
- Pressing the Xbox button during a game opens the in-game menu, so the game pauses
instead of running behind the guide. - Game options start in the pane below the bars. LB/RB switch sections (Mods, Cheats, DLC,
Pulse...) and LT/RT switch tabs; the stick and d-pad only move inside the pane. - Confirmation prompts name the key that confirms on your layout (A, or B with A/B swapped)
instead of always saying A. - The library's controller icon now looks like an Xbox Series controller.
Pulse
- Fixed sessions that failed to restore with
Pulse: npad revision. Games that start the
controller service with a newer revision (sent by recent homebrew and system versions) were
saved but then refused on restore. Older sessions still load.
Diagnostics (opt-in, boot.cfg)
gpu_capture_full=1: bounded full GPU capture, with a PC analyzer.dump_guest_shaders=1: writes every translated game shader to the dump folder.
