Fix IMAP login failing for accounts whose password contains non-ASCII characters. Such a password cannot be put into an IMAP quoted string, so the front's dovecot proxy sends it to the backend as a synchronizing literal, which the backend has to acknowledge with a
+ OKcontinuation. That continuation is written unframed right after the* MULTIPLEX 0line that switches the connection to the multiplex format, so the front reads it as a frame header, loses the stream and aborts the login after 30 seconds withLogin timed out in state=id+capability+login/banner-- even though the backend had already logged the user in. The front now authenticates to the backend withAUTHENTICATE PLAINinstead ofLOGIN, which carries the password as base64 and never produces a literal. Only IMAP was affected; POP3 and submission were not. -
This release was triggered by PR/Issue dovecot-utf8-password-proxy.

Update
The main version X.Y (e.g. 1.9) will always reflect the latest version of the branch. To update your Mailu installation simply pull the latest images `docker compose pull && docker compose up -d`.
The pinned version X.Y.Z (e.g. 1.9.1) is not updated. It is pinned to the commit that was used for creating this release. You can use a pinned version to make sure your Mailu installation is not suddenly updated when recreating containers. The pinned version allows the user to manually update. It also allows to go back to a previous pinned version.
