Kobra S1 Max / S1 V2 / K3 Max V2 and for an ACE 2 Pro on KlipperGo printers.

CFW — ACE 1 Pro v1.1.2 / ACE 2 Pro v1.0.7 (beta)

Changed

  • OpenSpool: one SKU per spool instead of the constant OPENSPOOL (#4). The sku is the only
per-slot text that reaches the printer and host tools (e.g. Rinkhals / Spoolman), so all OpenSpool
spools used to look identical and a spool swap could not be detected. Now:

    • OS-<spool_id> if the tag has a spool_id (1–16 characters A-Z a-z 0-9 . _ -, e.g. a Spoolman ID → OS-24)
    • otherwise OS-<UID>: the tag's chip UID in uppercase hex (e.g. OS-04A1B2C3D4E5F6)
    • OPENSPOOL only if neither is available (previous behaviour)

Longer or unusual spool_id values fall back to the UID instead of being cut off.
ACE 2 Pro side effect: the printer's remaining-filament estimate is now kept per spool.
Thanks to Godless50 for the UID idea (#7).

ACE Flash Tool v1.0.3

Fixed

  • Kobra S1 Max (20029) flashing failed with update-failed (code 10802) right after the download (#1).
  • Kobra S1 V2 (20031) was treated as AVATA, Kobra 3 Max V2 (20032) was unknown — both are KlipperGo now.

Changed

  • ACE 2 Pro images are allowed on KlipperGo printers; if the printer reports the ACE model, the image
must match the selected ACE (otherwise flashing is blocked and the reason is logged).
  • Test Connection shows the model of each connected ACE (e.g. model=ACE 2 Pro).

AceFlashTool-v1.0.2-windows-x64.zip Flash Tool v1.0.2 Windows x64
ACE_V1.3.863_20260716.bin CFW v1.1.1 ACE 1 Pro (KlipperGo printers: Kobra 3 / 3 Max / 3 V2 / S1)
ACE2_V1.0.6_20260817.bin CFW v1.0.6 ACE 2 Pro (AVATA printers: Kobra X / Kobra 4)

Flash Tool v1.0.2

Fixed

  • Flashing failed with update-failed on printers running newer firmware (Kobra S1 after 2.7.x): since 2.7 the printer expects a model_id field in the OTA request and rejects requests without it. The tool now always sends the matching id (40001 = ACE 1 Pro, 40002 = ACE 2 Pro, derived from the selected firmware image). Firmware 2.6.x is unaffected.

CFW — ACE 1 Pro v1.1.1

Based on official Anycubic ACE firmware v1.3.863. This is the first released build of the v1.1 line — it includes everything from v1.1 plus the v1.1.1 fixes.

Fixed in v1.1.1

  • OpenSpool tags are now read reliably (verified on real hardware with a community 198-byte OpenSpool tag):
    • The reader previously fetched only the first 176 bytes of a tag. OpenSpool tags carrying optional fields (bed temperatures, spool id, …) exceed that, were treated as truncated, and the spool never appeared. The read now adapts to the tag's declared memory size — the full NTAG215 range is covered (OpenSpool supports NTAG215/216).
    • Color is parsed as the OpenSpool spec defines it — color_hex without a # prefix. Tags written with a leading # keep working.
    • Temperatures are accepted in the spec's string form ("min_temp": "220") as well as plain numbers. Bed temperatures are picked up too, when present.
  • Anycubic, Bambu Lab and TigerTag spools are unaffected by the larger read window.

From v1.1 (2026-07-23)

  • TigerTag support verified on real hardware (Jayo PLA+ Maker tag): parser rewritten against the official TigerTag spec — material, color, weight, nozzle/bed temperatures and drying parameters all decode correctly.
  • Third-party NTAG spools (TigerTag, OpenSpool, …) were unreadable: the reader authenticated with the Anycubic password first, which silences unprotected foreign tags. Tags are now read without authentication first; Anycubic passwords are only a fallback (also removes AUTHLIM lockout risk). Anycubic Gen 1/Gen 2 and Bambu Lab verified unaffected.
  • Firmware updates could fail with a CRC verification error when the image grew beyond the 112 KB update slot; the build now enforces this limit up front.
  • Debug firmware variant with NFC traces on a second USB serial port — useful when reporting unrecognized spools.

CFW — ACE 2 Pro v1.0.6

Based on official stock firmware V1.1.31. Reports version V1.0.0 to the printer (kept intentionally low so cloud mode still offers the official firmware as a recovery image).

Changed

  • All NFC fixes from ACE 1 Pro CFW v1.1 / v1.1.1 above are included: no-auth-first reading of third-party NTAG spools, TigerTag spec parser, OpenSpool spec compliance with adaptive read size.
  • Debug firmware variant with NFC traces on the debug serial port.
  • Oversized-image protection at build time (CRC-failure prevention), matching ACE 1 Pro v1.1.

Note: these fixes are hardware-verified on the ACE 1 Pro; the ACE 2 Pro shares the same NFC layer but re-testing on real ACE 2 Pro hardware is still pending. Anycubic and Bambu Lab detection is unaffected by design (separate read paths).

v1.0.1 - ACE 2 Pro support

Choose a tag to compare

@Jupsi Jupsi released this 29 May 12:54

ACE Flash Tool v1.0.1 + CFW bundle

Adds ACE 2 Pro (Gen 2) support alongside the existing ACE 1 Pro (Gen 1).

What's in this release

  • AceFlashTool-v1.0.1-windows-x64.zip - Flash Tool v1.0.1. Adds ACE 2 Pro / AVATA-stack support (e.g. Kobra X); the previous blanket AVATA block is now a firmware/printer mismatch guard.
  • ACE_V1.3.863_20260521.bin - ACE 1 Pro (Gen 1) CFW v1.0.0. For KlipperGo-stack printers (Kobra 3 / S1).
  • ACE2_V1.0.4_20260529.bin - ACE 2 Pro (Gen 2) CFW v1.0.4. For AVATA-stack printers (Kobra X).

Use the firmware that matches your ACE generation (ACE_V... = Gen 1, ACE2_V... = Gen 2). Multi-vendor NFC (Anycubic + Bambu Lab confirmed). See docs/how-to-flash.md; stock/recovery firmware for both generations is in originalFirmware/.

CFW v1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Jupsi Jupsi released this 22 May 17:14

CFW v1.0 — based on official Anycubic ACE firmware v1.3.863

Added

  • Multi-vendor NFC: Anycubic Gen 1/Gen 2, Bambu Lab, Elegoo, TigerTag, OpenSpool, OpenPrintTag
  • Bambu Lab MIFARE Classic support (HKDF-SHA256 sector key derivation)
  • SKU propagation for all parsers — slicer edit lock active (rfid=2) for all recognized spools
  • RxGain increased to 48 dB (+15 dB vs. default 33 dB) for all NFC reader slots
  • Case-start immediate read: no full spool rotation needed when chip is at reader on insertion

Fixed

  • NFC color byte order: Anycubic and Bambu colors now display correctly in the slicer
  • Hub-tag stop strategy: Bambu spools use soft stop at 5 mm/s to reduce inertia overshoot
  • Partial MIFARE read resilience: sector 2 auth failure no longer discards data from sectors 0+1
  • GCC -O2 SPI delay: volatile keyword added to bitbang SPI delay loops
  • NFC timer: increased from 1 ms to 10 ms for NTAG and MIFARE block reads
  • Boot crash on GCC: static C++ objects with virtual destructors replaced with heap allocation

Flash Tool

  • Windows x64 desktop application
  • Flashes firmware over local network via MQTT
  • Blocks flashing for AVATA stack printers (ACE Gen 2 only, no CFW available)

ACE Gen 1 only. Do NOT flash onto ACE Gen 2 — this will soft-brick the device.
See README for full warnings.
