Backpacks 2.1
Fixed Resource Pack Issues with 1.21.4 Update
Heyya! Sorry it's so late.
This update fixes the issues that arose with Mojang's custom model rework in 1.21.4. This version is also completely compatible with older servers and automatically uses the legacy model system on pre-1.21.4 servers.
From the user side, you shouldn't feel any difference.
If any model is broken, simply opening the backpack should fix any issue with the model.
If there are any issues, do contact me. Contrary to what's seen on here, I actually do work on this stuff.
Backpacks 2.0
Backpacks 2.0 - Colors!!!
Yes. The Backpacks finally get a Colors Update! Better yet, in addition to colors, the resourcepack with my all-time favourite backpack textures is included now. The resource pack can be disabled in the config if you wish to use your own. The README provides the latest URL for the resource pack and the SHA1 hash, if you wish to set it with Spigot directly.
Existing backpacks do not yet have the backpack-look, but when opening it, the new texture is applied automatically. The same goes for ender backpacks, of course.
You can now color backpacks with any dye, colored backpacks can be re-colored, and since you're such a skilled crafter, the old color is completely washed away.
If you want the old look back, you can simply wash it out with a water bucket in the crafting table. Naturally, you get to keep the bucket.
Notice: Unfortunately, due to a duplication glitch, you have to provide exactly one (1) backpack and one (1) dye when coloring, otherwise it won't work.
Here is a peek into all the different colors and crafting:

Un-Coloring:
Backpacks v1.4.1
[+] Added Custom Backpack names
- Added auto-add for Backpack Names in the config
- No need to re-generate the config
Backpacks v1.5
[Developer Build]
This is a partly untested developer build. Although it should be stable, it has not yet been thoroughly tested.
Bug Fix ≫ Inventory Size now adjusts to defaults and previous size of existing backpacks
Bug ≫ Inventory Saving has issues with other plugins or backpack-in-backpack configuration. Untested with collision, Solo unable to replicate
Backpacks v1.4
Custom Crafting Recipes for Backpacks!
Changelog:
[+] Added custom crafting recipes
- Shape and Materials are customizable in the config, though fallback recipes are hardcoded
- To reset recipes, delete or rename the file
- For changes to come into effect, the server must be reloaded or restarted (obv)
[+] Added prioritization of interactable blocks like crafting tables, doors etc, so now you need to shift while looking at them to open the backpack
[-] Removed red warning message in Lore of unassigned Backpacks from the Alpha
Backpacks v1.3
Removed duplicate saving of Backpack Inventories
- Previously, the inventory of backpacks was saved twice in the files because I had experimented with that in the Alpha and forgotten about it
- This has now been fixed, the code has been removed
- The version of the plugin has also now been updated in the source code
Backpacks v1.2
This plugin should now work on all spigot servers 1.16+.
Changes:
- API version set to 1.16, so everything 1.16 and above should work.
- Tested on 1.16.5 and 1.19.2, everything works as intended
- There are warnings on 1.16.5 ("Tried to load unrecognized recipe..."), but everything works as intended (afaik).
Backpacks v1.1
A plugin that adds craftable Backpacks to Minecraft. The backpacks are crafted similarly to shulker boxes, there are normal Backpacks and Ender-Backpacks (they just open your Ender Chest on the go).
This update contains one singular change:
- When loading, if the size of the inventory is not a multiple of 9, it is rounded up to the next multiple of 9.
- This avoids any errors that come with an invalid inventory size.
Backpacks v1.0
A plugin that adds craftable Backpacks to Minecraft. The backpacks are crafted similarly to shulker boxes, there are normal Backpacks and Ender-Backpacks (they just open your Ender Chest on the go).
The items for Backpacks and Ender-Backpacks can be set in the config, as well as enable / disable them entirely.
There is also an option to disable putting backpacks inside other backpacks. If disabled, players will still be able to retrieve stored backpacks from inside backpacks, but it will no longer be possible to put backpacks inside.
[ToDo: Images of Crafting]
The images were made using a texture pack that uses textures from a backpack mod. Since I don't know if I can publish these textures / my texture pack because it uses them, I'm not going to. Feel free to make your own!
I might add a texture pack for these backpacks in the future, though.
