ArchiSteamFarm V7.0.0.2
Pre-releaseNotice
Pre-releases are test versions that often contain unpatched bugs, work-in-progress features and rewritten implementations. If you don't consider yourself advanced user, please download latest stable release instead. Pre-release versions are dedicated to users who know how to report bugs, deal with issues and give feedback - no technical support will be given. Check out ASF release cycle if you'd like to learn more.
Experimental notice
This release is made earlier than usual in order to allow plugin creators to take appropriate steps and adapt their plugins to breaking changes, and also catch any remaining bugs early (if any). Final release will be available once .NET 11 is released, which is planned for later this month (November 2026). Until then, we're basing off latest .NET 11 (rc3), which is supported in production and should not change much compared to final release.
For plugin developers specifically, once again we're highlighting a possibility of having multiple zip files in the release with appropriate name, which will tell ASFs which file to target. For example, keep your current version as YourPlugin-V6.zip for existing stable users, while already having YourPlugin-V7.zip for upcoming release. This way stable users will not update to V7 just yet, but if it becomes available, ASF V6 will automatically update your plugin to V7 just before updating itself to V7, offering completely smooth transition with no user action needed. More info can be found on the wiki.
In case you stumble upon any problem or question while updating, remember we have a dedicated #dev-plugins channel on our Discord server where you can reach us with all matters that consider custom plugin development. We're happy to help!
Changes since V6.3.11.7:
Breaking changes:
- ASF has received a long overdue major cleanup of its internal APIs, which fixes several outstanding issues that we had until this point. This unfortunately causes all existing plugins to stop working, as they'll need to be adapted to new signatures - therefore, a decision to open a new V7.0 release family was made (@JustArchi).
- ASF is now based on .NET 11. As usual, generic users will require .NET 11 upgrade, OS-specific users are covered by our built-in runtime. .NET 11 brings a lot of under-the-hood features, bugfixes and other improvements (@JustArchi #3617).
Core:
- Fixed ASF not returning plugin's
WebPathinGET /Api/PluginsASF API call (@JustArchi #3631). - Latest ASF-ui with new features, improvements and bugfixes (@MrBurrBurr).
- Updated localization provided by our community (@JustArchi-ArchiBot).
- Usual amount of other core improvements, optimizations and bugfixes (@JustArchi).
Changes for plugins creators:
- All async methods across ASF API have received a
CancellationTokenas last argument, with primary function beingOnLoaded(), which causes all existing plugins to stop working. You'll need to update signatures of the implemented plugin functions, while majority of ASF API calls just need a recompilation, since the parameter is always the last and has a default value (@JustArchi, f806c5d). - Public enums that were part of the classes before have been extracted into standalone definitions, some have also changed enum name. Existing value names and semantics were left untouched, a slight refactor may be needed (@JustArchi, 84963b6).
IBotCommand2andIBotTradeOffer2were updated to original name. Just drop2from the name and you're good to go (@JustArchi, 84a7ca1).- Functionalities previously marked obsolete have been removed (@JustArchi, fb15779).
- ASF is now based on .NET 11 - if you've closely followed our plugin template, all of the above changes should be minimal (@JustArchi, 984926d).
Support
ASF is available for free, this release was made possible thanks to the people that decided to support the project. If you're grateful for what we're doing, please consider a donation. Developing ASF requires massive amount of time and knowledge, especially when it comes to Steam (and its problems). Even $1 is highly appreciated and shows that you care. Thank you!
