Notes

Home/personal workstation

Decoy placement strategy: ~/Documents/zee-decoys/ — outside commonly-accessed directories.
Tuning: confidence_threshold = "high" (default). No burst overrides needed.
Lessons learned: Avoid placing decoys inside Dropbox / iCloud Drive / Google Drive sync folders — sync clients read files on every cycle and generate constant notifications.

Development machine (personal repo work)

Decoy placement strategy: Outside all git repositories. Never inside a project directory.
Tuning: dry_run = true during initial setup period. Switch to dry_run = false only after confirming zero false positives over 48h.
Lessons learned: IDE indexers (VS Code, JetBrains) may read arbitrary files in watched directories. Keep decoys in a dedicated top-level directory like ~/zee-decoys/.
