PaperDuet 0.5.2
AI Search in the library: find a paper you have read by its title, text, translation, summary or tags.
Download
- PaperDuet_0.5.2_aarch64.dmg (click to download) · Apple silicon Mac (M1 or later) · macOS 13.3 or later
- PaperDuet_0.5.2_x64-setup.exe (click to download) · Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
Either way, keep 2 to 8 GB free for the translation model, depending on which one you choose (2.1 GB for the recommended one).
Install
If you have PaperDuet 0.2 or later, it offers this update by itself; click it and restart.
Otherwise:
Mac
- Open the disk image and drag PaperDuet into Applications, replacing the old version if you have one. Open it from there.
- The app is not notarized by Apple, so the first time macOS says it cannot check it. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about PaperDuet, click Open Anyway and confirm.
Windows
- Run the installer.
- First time only: if Windows says “Windows protected your PC,” click More info, then Run anyway.
Your translations, notes and settings stay as they are.
What's new
- AI Search 🔍 at the top of the library, above AI Organize. Find a paper you have read by its title, original text, translation, summary or tags. With a translation model ready, words in Chinese also find the English original, and the other way round. Under each paper found, a line shows where it was found.
- Searching and AI Organize now move the papers found to the top, and the others below in grey, instead of hiding them.
The other files below (.app.tar.gz and latest.json) are what the in-app updater downloads; you don't need them.
