The mod (required). |
simple_bytestorage_scripting-1.2.1.jar |
Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Install on both client and server. The network protocol changed (now 10) — client and server must run the same version.
What's new since 1.2.0
Main mod
- Controller redesigned: tabs with icons in a left column, a header with a network icon and a close cross, an Overview with a status/energy panel and a network-contents panel (items stored, charge, estimated time left). The Wireless Terminal and Recipe Library slots no longer overlap other controls.
- All other screens restyled in the same style: icons in every window header, a status LED, a clickable close cross (ESC still works), icons on section labels and on some buttons.
- Statistics graphs (new Graphs tab): items stored and energy over the last 20 minutes, plus the items that rose and fell the most. History is not saved across reloads.
- Stock rule schedule: rules can place orders always, at night only, by day only, or only while network energy is high.
- Capacitor block: a 500,000 FE reserve that refills the Controller below 50%, absorbs surplus above 90% and accepts energy from adjacent generators.
- "Max" button in the order dialog: when ingredients are short, one click orders the largest amount that can be crafted now.
- Terminal tooltips show stored / reserved / in-production amounts for the hovered item.
- Reservations survive world reloads.
- Stuck Pattern Buses are detected and reported like stuck Assemblers.
- Saved searches: three slots under the terminals' sort buttons (stored in
config/simple_bytestorage_searches.txt).
Scripting addon
- Code editor in the Logic Terminal: line numbers, syntax highlighting, undo/redo, auto-indent, auto-closing brackets, Tab indent, Ctrl+/ comments, and autocomplete for API members and item ids (Ctrl+Space to force).
- Events: optional
onCraft,onLowStock,onAlerthandlers instead of polling intick(). net.machines()lists Assemblers and Pattern Buses with their state;stock.mode()/stock.setMode()control the schedule.
Known limitations
- Statistics history and saved searches are not stored on the server (history resets on reload; searches are per client).
- The new GUI visuals have not been checked on every GUI scale.

The mod (required). |
simple_bytestorage_scripting-1.2.0.jar |
Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Install on both client and server. The network protocol changed (now 9) — client and server must run the same version.
What's new since 1.1.3
Main mod
- Controller — Journal tab: the latest autocrafting events (orders, finished crafts, Pattern Bus starts, stock-rule orders and failures, cancellations, stuck machines) with timestamps and paging. Identical events are merged. The controller window is wider (288 px); the Russian "Хранилище" tab is now "Склад".
- Resource reservation: raw materials taken by an accepted order are reserved. Terminals, I/O buses and the Wireless Terminal cannot take them; new orders are planned only from the free remainder; Assemblers and Pattern Buses consume from the reservation. Cancelling releases it. Reservations are not saved across world restarts.
- Machine power from the network: the Pattern Bus now charges adjacent machines that have an energy buffer (electric furnace, etc.) from network energy. The new Energy Interface block (cable + redstone + gold ingot) connects by cable and charges adjacent machines. Up to 1000 FE/t per device; the network keeps a reserve so machines cannot black it out.
- Shortage warnings: stock-rule failure reasons (no pattern, missing ingredient with amount, no machine, queues full) show in a tooltip over the red
!; after 3 failures in a row a chat message is sent. An Assembler waiting for ingredients or storage space for more than 30 s is logged as "Stuck" and reported. Players carrying a Wireless Terminal bound to the controller are notified, at most once per 5 minutes per reason. - Fix: the Recipes tab no longer draws an extra column of slot frames.
- API: stable
com.simpleae.bytestorage.api.NetworkControlfacade for addons.
Scripting addon
- Network info:
net.available,net.reserved,net.totalReserved,net.energy(),net.stats(). - Planning (orders nothing):
net.canCraft,net.why(reason code plus missing item and count),net.plan. - Order queue:
net.queue(),net.setPriority,net.pause,net.resume,net.cancel. - Stock rules:
stock.list,stock.set,stock.clear. - Recipe settings:
recipes.block/unblock/prefer/unprefer,recipes.skipUnpacking. - Journal:
journal.write,journal.warn,journal.read— script entries appear in the Controller's Journal tab. - Alerts:
alert(text)sends a chat warning to owners of bound Wireless Terminals. - New server config options
allowControlandallowAlerts; new per-run limits (4 journal writes, 1 alert). - Wiki, in-game guide (en/ru/uk) and examples 17–23 updated.
Notes and limitations
- Reservations cover only raw materials taken from storage and are not persisted.
- Stuck detection covers Assemblers only.
- Pattern Bus learning mode is heuristic: one output item per pattern; put fuel/energy into the machine before recording.
- Order time estimates are unavailable for Pattern Bus orders.
- Wireless alerts scan only the main inventory.
- Priority/pause apply when a machine picks its next craft: a craft that is already running finishes first.

Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Install on both client and server. The network protocol changed (now 9) — client and server must run the same version.
What's new since 1.1.2
- Terminals: items in stock are always listed first, then items that can only be crafted, marked with the word Craft instead of a count. Sorting works inside each group.
- Extended search: several words (all must match),
@mod,#tag,>100/<100/=100,$craftable,$stock,$fav. Alt + click marks a favorite (gold corner); favorites come first in their group. - Controller — Recipes tab (needs the Recipe Library): recipe blacklist, preferred ingredient variants for tags, and a "skip unpacking" switch (block -> 9 ingots) that is on by default.
- Controller — Crafting tab: the order queue shows progress, estimated time and priority; per order you can raise/lower the priority, pause it or cancel it.
- Controller — Stock tab: up to 8 "keep at least N" rules; the network orders the missing amount by itself.
- Pattern Bus learning mode: press Record a recipe, run the recipe in the machine by hand once, and the bus writes a processing pattern.
- Automated tests run on every build; a manual test plan lives in
docs/TESTING.md.
Notes and limitations
- Priority/pause apply when a machine picks its next craft: a craft that is already running always finishes first.
- Order time estimates are based on Assembler craft time; orders on Pattern Buses show no estimate.
- Learning mode records one output item per pattern; put fuel/energy into the machine before recording.
- Resource reservation for queued orders is not implemented yet.

simple_bytestorage_scripting-1.1.2.jar |
Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Install on both client and server. The network protocol changed — client and server must run the same version.
What's new since 1.1.0
- Recipe Library — an expensive Network Controller upgrade (4 netherite ingots, 4 diamond blocks, nether star). The network then knows every crafting-table recipe of the game (vanilla and modded) without encoding Patterns; they can be ordered from any terminal and used as sub-crafts, and they are listed in the Pattern Terminal. Without it only the recipes you encoded are known.
- Wireless Terminal settings redesign — tabs (Upgrades / Transfer / Macro), 8 upgrade slots, 18-slot filter with whitelist/blacklist.
- New Wireless Terminal cards:
- Insurance Card — on death your items go into the network and are returned when you respawn.
- Tool Card — a broken tool is replaced from the network.
- Macro Card — a hotkey (default V) runs Logic Buses by identifier (needs the Scripting addon). Addons can hook in through the new
WirelessMacrosAPI.
- Unified craft plan window — ordering from the Terminal and Crafting Terminal now shows the same plan as the Pattern Terminal: what will be crafted (sub-crafts included), what is missing, Start / Cancel, with an adjustable amount.
- The Release workflow can also publish to CurseForge (optional) and supports beta releases.
Known limitations
- The Tool Card replaces a broken tool with the first matching item of the same kind (enchantments and durability are not matched).
- In the Pattern Terminal, tag ingredients of library recipes show their first variant (the ✓/✗ marks use the item the network actually picked).
- Special (non shaped/shapeless) crafting recipes are not part of the Recipe Library.

simple_bytestorage_scripting-1.1.0.jar |
Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Install on both client and server. The network protocol changed — client and server must run the same version.
What's new
- Network Controller GUI — right-click the controller: Overview (status, energy, connected blocks), Storage (disk load, item types, top items) and Crafting (patterns, busy Assemblers, Pattern Bus jobs, craft queue) tabs.
- Wireless Terminal binding via the controller — put the terminal into the controller's slot to bind and charge it (replaces Shift + right-click on a Terminal).
- Wireless Terminal upgrades — Shift + right-click opens settings. The new Auto-Transfer Card refills the stack in your hand from the network and sends picked-up items to the network; 9-slot filter with whitelist/blacklist; 2 FE per item.
- Order crafts from any terminal — in the Terminal and Crafting Terminal, click a dimmed craftable item or Ctrl + click (middle click) an item in stock to open an order dialog.
- Sorting in terminals — by name or count, ascending or descending.
- Pattern Encoding Terminal — ordinary crafting-table recipes are written straight into the network, no Pattern item needed; Patterns are only for processing crafts.
- Compact item count text in terminals and the Assembler buffer (no more overflow on large stacks).
- Guide Book chapters for the controller GUI and the Wireless Terminal (en / ru / uk).
Fixes
- Items vanishing when a second stack was put into a Terminal (stack count overflowed the NBT byte).
- Pattern Bus dispatched only 16 crafts of a large order; now up to 256 in flight.
- "Pattern Provider" renamed to "Pattern Bus" in the guide and docs.
Scripting addon
- Logic Bus identifiers are assigned in the bus's own GUI; the Logic Terminal lists them.

Optional addon: Logic Bus + Logic Terminal (JavaScript). Requires the main mod. |
Put the jar(s) into your mods folder. The addon must be installed on both client and server, like the main mod. JEI is optional.
Highlights
- 1 item = 1 byte storage with no limit on item types; cells from 1k to 64k.
- Network from a single controller: touch or use cables. Energy (FE) powered.
- Drives with priority and whitelist; Terminal, Crafting Terminal, and a Wireless Terminal.
- Autocrafting: pattern encoding (crafting and processing modes), ordering with a confirmation window, sub-crafts, queue with cancel, Assembler with speed cards, Pattern Provider for machine recipes.
- I/O Bus for automatic import/export.
- JEI "+" button fills the encoder.
- In-game Guide Book (en / ru / uk).
- Scripting addon (optional): Logic Bus runs JavaScript in a sandbox; bus identifiers let one script control groups of buses; server config with
opsOnlyand limits.
Full documentation: see the project wiki / docs/wiki.
Notes
- If you do not install the scripting addon, its blocks simply do not exist.
- On public servers set
opsOnly = trueinsimple_bytestorage_scripting-common.toml(scripts have instruction, time, item and API-call limits but no memory limit). - Removing the scripting addon from a world deletes any placed Logic Buses and Terminals.
