WoW Forever Bots 0.1.30.1
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.30.1 (client builds 70790, 70755 and 70707)
A quick fix for 0.1.30. It brings back quests and NPCs that fresh installs were missing and fixes several crashes and problems with the 70790 game client.
Fixes
- Quests and NPCs: installs made with 0.1.28 or newer were missing a part of the Forever quest data. About 100 quests, 2,600 NPC spawns, 900 objects and many drops and vendors are back, so quest chains no longer stop early in the starting zones. The update puts them in for everyone, new installs and updated ones.
- Game client 70790: the game crashed when you logged in as a ghost, and again while entering the world. About 70 server messages reached the 70790 client under the wrong number (mail answers, the earned-achievement line, scenes and more). They are fixed, so mail and achievements work and a ghost can log in.
- Mail: the 70790 mail window asks for a full name and sends it as Name-Realm (for example Flani-Trinity). That name now finds the character.
- The chat line for the achievement every new character gets, Played in the WoW: Forever Beta, shows its name again on 70790.
- Hunters: the Lone Wolf talent could make the server skip a map update. Fixed.
- More Al'Aketh Ears (Vayn Moongaze, Zephris Isle) can be done again after the first time.
Good to know
- Game builds 70790, 70755, 70707 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) work.
- Log in with your account name written as name@local (with the @Local part) and the password from the secrets folder, or with the account made by Create account.
- Your own settings file (zz-9-local.conf) is kept.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.30
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.30 (client builds 70790, 70755 and 70707)
A big update after 0.1.29.1: hired NPC bots off by default, a settings file that stays complete after updates, and a long list of quest, spell, pet and bot fixes.
New
- Hired NPC bots are off by default. Bots are free again: make them with the ForeverBots add-on or .bot add. If you updated from 0.1.29, your settings file is switched to off once, at the first start. To hire bots from the broker NPCs again, set Playerbot.Hire.Mode = 1 in zz-9-local.conf and restart. The server keeps your 1 after that.
- Your settings file (server\worldserver.conf.d\zz-9-local.conf) gets every new setting after an update, with its comment and the value the server already used. A setting you already had, or turned off with #, is never changed or added twice.
- New on/off settings in zz-9-local.conf: bots inviting you to their guild, and world bots inviting you to their group when you walk past. Both are off by default.
- Game client 70790: the server sends the two new Forever launch keys to the client, and the map extractor knows them. The tables extracted before these keys are extracted again once, by themselves.
- ForeverBots add-on 0.6.17: one click on a role icon adds the bot. The Positions tab gets Tanks and Heals boxes, a pick by raid group and a Set button. The World bots tab is gone: world bots are set in the launcher only.
- Russian names for more than 1,100 NPCs.
Fixes
- Hunter pets: a revived pet keeps the happiness it had when it died, so it no longer runs away. Hunters get Revive Pet, Feed Pet and Dismiss Pet with Tame Beast and Call Pet. New ammo is picked up when the old ammo runs out. A pet that cannot follow you is put away, not dismissed, and a pet that falls out of sight is set down next to you.
- Quests: Seeking Refuge has one Bareth, who starts at the foot of the tower. The Patience reports in Brill can be handed in. The Sealed Crate quests are only offered once you take a crate. Abandoned Belongings on Zephris Isle can be looted. Keeper of the Rolls stands at Light's Hope Chapel. 54 vanilla quest chains have their first quests back. Quest givers for 4 war effort quests are added. Missing pages of readable quest items are added. Scarlet Crusade Attack Plans drop for A Lesson in Divinity. The Blackrock Blockade supplies and 31 other quest objects are used up when looted and come back later.
- Trainers: four trainers whose train option opened nothing now train you. Every profession trainer teaches Forever's new recipes. A class trainer shows its train option only to its own class. The Triage doctors teach the Artisan bandages.
- Spells and talents: Warrior Overpower can be used for 5 seconds after a dodge. Improved Whirlwind adds its bonus to the closest enemy. Rogue poisons use their charges. Holy Binding, Bloom, Swift Judgement, Unsealed Wrath, Reckoning, Fast Recovery, Rapid Killing, Summon Hawk and Natural Reaction work as their tooltips say, along with more talents and spells. The eight legacy perks that did nothing now work. Forever Well Fed gives its 5% kill experience. A spell pressed at the end of a cast goes off after it on a laggy connection too.
- World: the Darkmoon Faire runs on its schedule, the Dragons of Nightmare come in rounds, and Burning Steppes has its Flame Crest graveyard. 13 old-world graveyards are back in their vanilla places. Argent Dawn Scourgestones drop again. Three innkeepers sell food and drink again. The Camp Tents that stood on the adventurer camps are removed. Pilot Xiggs Fuselighter stands on the ground.
- Molten Core: Firewalker's Fire Blossom only picks targets it can reach. Uldaman: Archaedas's wall dwarves stop waking once the Vault Warders are up. Covert Ops Alpha and Beta: the NG-5 charges and detonator work.
- Login: a character saved on a zeppelin or boat logs in on it, not at the hearthstone. A guild rank with an empty name gets its default name.
- Merchant's Favor: waylaid crates and craftsman's writs work.
- Bots: bots fight back a mob that hits them in the open world. They take quests that start from an item in their bags. They step out of trap zones and walk around them. They no longer cast at immune or airborne targets. In battlegrounds, one bot caps each banner. Hunter and Arms Warrior bots do more damage. Mage bots use their procs. Tanks walk to the mob they are sent to, and in dungeons they only push to the boss they are on. World bots help a losing player from 60% health (was 40%).
- Moved install folder: the launcher says so and asks you to run Install.cmd.
Good to know
- Game builds 70790, 70755, 70707 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) work.
- Log in with your account name written as name@local (with the @Local part) and the password from the secrets folder, or with the account made by Create account.
- The update keeps your own zz-9-local.conf. The old copy from before the hired bots switch is zz-9-local.conf.before-hire-off.bak.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.29.1
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.29.1 (client builds 70790, 70755 and 70707)
A hotfix for 0.1.29. It adds the game client 70790 that Battle.net installed on the evening of 4 November, brings in Forever's class changes, and fixes a long list of quests, vendors, bots and launcher problems.
New
- Game client 70790 can log in, next to 70755 and 70707. You do not need the "Untested builds" box of the launcher for it any more.
- Class changes from Forever: spells, talents and ability numbers follow Forever's data for every class (hunter launch tuning, new druid ranks, bear threat, Lacerate hits with weapon damage per stack, and the 70790 changes). Bear bots use Lacerate.
- Warriors: Victory Rush hits for 1 plus 15% of attack power again (it hit for 1 or 2).
Fixes
- Quests: Secure the Mountain can be finished (the cave area did not count). Quest givers and trainers we added ourselves, among them Eldrun Stormbreaker, the Ironforge shaman trainer, can be clicked again. Four quests (91753, 92706, 95140, 99048) give their reputation, and two exclusive ones (971 and 968) are exclusive.
- Vendors: Commerce Authority recipes, tabard, pet and mount cost Merchant's Favor, not silver. A failed buy shows its error on the right item. Quickcoin in Redridge is friendly and opens the auction house.
- Skinning: starting-zone beasts give Ruined Leather Scraps again, and Lar'korwi gives Rugged Leather.
- Ahn'Qiraj: Anubisath Shadow Storm only hits players 25 yards or more away, and Obsidian Nullifiers start the fight with no mana and no longer open with Nullify.
- Spells: line and rectangle areas have the right size, and slows also slow walking (not backward swimming or flying).
- Auction house: bot buyers buy up to 200 items an hour, as set.
- Bots: a bot in a group no longer runs off to its own far quest goal in the middle of a fight. Always-on food no longer sits the bot down. Rogue bot talent builds find the renamed talents of 70790.
- The server no longer stops at start after a guild rank was deleted. A click in the server window no longer freezes the server and blocks logins.
- Host for friends uses the real network card, not a VPN, for the home address. A game on the server PC always gets 127.0.0.1 from the realm list. Play warns when a server on another PC has a certificate this PC does not trust, and points to Join a friend.
- The launcher's backup key search also uses the keys the game remembers for its region.
Good to know
- Game builds 70790, 70755, 70707 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) work.
- Log in with your account name written as name@local (with the @Local part) and the password from the secrets folder, or with the account made by Create account.
- Arenas (2v2 and 3v3 with bots) come in 0.1.30. The arena buttons of the add-on do nothing useful until then.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.29
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.29 (client builds 70755, 70707 and 70685)
A formation tab for your bots, stances, world bot choices in the game and in the launcher, PvP bots on PvP realms, and many fixes.
New
- Arenas (2v2 and 3v3 with bots) are not ready yet and come in 0.1.30. The arena buttons in the add-on's minimap menu do nothing useful until then.
- Positions tab in /fb: put chosen bots in a formation (spear, circle, line and more) at a spot or at your target, and they stay there until you press Follow.
- Bot stances Passive, Defensive and Aggressive, and an Ignore target button.
- World bots Off, Low, Normal and High: in the add-on (World bots tab) and in the launcher's Bots window. Bots.Size = Off in your settings file means no world bots; your own bots and the battleground bots still come.
- World PvP: on PvP and free-for-all realms some world bots are flagged and some start fights (never in the home zones or in capitals).
- Hired bots only: a setting (Playerbot.Hire.Mode) that turns off bots of your own, so only the ones you hire are yours; the dungeon finders still fill the group.
- Bots sign a guild charter when you ask them to.
- Hired bots only is the default of a new install (Playerbot.Hire.Mode = 1 in zz-9-local.conf): players hire bots from the broker NPCs. An install you already have keeps its own setting.
- Transmogrifier: an outfit you save is worn by your character at once.
- Changes from the WoW Forever notes: starting zones respawn fastest and slower as zones go up in level, higher level mobs have more health, new bags no longer equip themselves, and Dalaran Summoners no longer fill the camps with guards.
Fixes
- Whispering Horror is a level 13 elite and stands on the camp floor. Rudolph Gelhardt's head always drops.
- Felwood: the bonfire quest (4763) works. The Missing Scholar (92727) can be taken again, and Commander Haalien always drops his quest items.
- The auction house buyer also buys players' dropped scrolls, potions and recipes.
- Rogue Stealth works again after Camouflage (it no longer says "ability can't be used").
- Bots hit while a dungeon hop is stalled fight back first. The hourly instance limit counts real players, not bots. Plain bot numbers hold all day.
- The launcher says which program holds a port, or that Windows keeps it.
- bnetserver.conf: the line Network.RequestsPerSecond is added when an older file has none (the new login server warned about it).
- The game tables stay in one language folder (fixes the server stopping after an update on a non-English game; included since 0.1.28.2).
Good to know
- Game builds 70755, 70707, 70685 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) keep working.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28.2
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28.2 (client builds 70755, 70707 and 70685)
Fixes a crash after updating to 0.1.28.1 for players whose game is not in English. Nothing else is different from 0.1.28.1.
What changed
- On a Russian, German or other non-English game, the update to 0.1.28.1 could put the server's game tables in a second language folder next to the first one, made from two different game builds. The server then closed itself when it started ("worldserver exited" in the start window). The server now keeps one language folder only, in the language it was installed with, and makes its tables again from your game in that language.
- If your server already stopped after updating to 0.1.28.1, press Update in the launcher (or use the update zip below) and start the server again. The leftover second folder is removed by itself. You do not have to delete anything.
- Nothing else is different from 0.1.28.1.
Good to know
- Game builds 70755, 70707, 70685 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) keep working.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28.1
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28.1 (client builds 70755, 70707 and 70685)
Adds the game client that Battle.net installs from 4 November (1.60.1.70755) and removes a false alarm in virus scanners. Nothing else is different from 0.1.28.
What changed
- The server accepts the new game client 70755. The messages of that client that moved numbers are mapped per connection, so players on 70755 can log in, create a character and play, and clients on 70707 and older still work on the same server. Realm.AlsoAcceptBuilds now lists 70755 in the server settings as well as in the login server's.
- The installer no longer removes the internet mark from the whole folder and no longer reads the Battle.net product.db file. Kaspersky flagged both. The installer still finds your game folder from the places it already checked.
- The source zip no longer carries the launcher's own source files.
Good to know
- Game builds 70755, 70707, 70685 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) keep working.
- Log in with your account name written as name@local (with the @Local part) and the password from the secrets folder, or with the account made by Create account.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.28 (client builds 70707 and 70685)
A big update with a new look for the launcher, many quest fixes, and smarter bots in dungeons and raids.
Launcher
- The launcher window is larger, sharp on 4K screens, uses Segoe UI lettering and is blue by default.
- New Realm type window: Normal, PvP, RP, RP-PvP or FFA PvP.
- The Bots window now has the plain Bots lines (Reserve, ActiveCap, PerZone, InCity). One choice controls the settings file the server really uses, and old bot numbers become the plain Bots size at the first start.
- Fixed a mistake in the launcher's manifest that could stop Windows from starting the launcher.
Bots
- Dungeons and raids: the tank pulls with line of sight in mind, the group waits at the return point while the tank pulls back, and a boss the bot cannot attack is no longer treated as the next pull. Dire Maul bots take the wing the group stands in.
- Bots that fall more than 15 seconds out of range are brought to their player.
- Shaman bots put down their air and fire totems, not only Healing Stream.
- Bot hunters read the Tranquilizing Shot book at 60.
- The auction house buyer buys player stacks and buys out instead of bidding.
- Hired bots: settings for gear, health and what each broker sells. Hire brokers now show their talk option in the client.
- World bots no longer invite players who walk past to a group.
Quests and world
- Zephras Isle: the Al'Aketh Skypriests and Honor Guards at the Shrine of Akir move and fight; carry Fillion Flamebreeze to safety; get the Mark of Akir back; Resaan's Heirloom can be retrieved for The Fate of a Loved One; Vayn Moongaze sells his reputation items.
- Among the Faithful, The Affray, The Defias Brotherhood, Shiny Junk, Lost in Battle, Finding Warmth (the Fallen Logs are back) and the note you found (79007/79008) work again.
- Nine quest-starting items that could never drop now drop normally.
- Warrior trainers Seena Skybreaker, Corsan Earthrazer and Blademaster Ren offer training.
- Creature and object spawns that our world data lacked are back.
Game rules
- Mage: pressing Comprehend Scroll deciphers the first untranslated scroll in the bags.
- Honor is credited as the Honor currency, so the PvP quartermasters can be used.
- Victory Rush is usable after a kill on the Classic 1.60 client; periodic damage and healing can crit; joining an arena reads the Classic 1.60 packet.
- Talents are not reset when a level below 10 is gained with no point spent.
- Camp buffs no longer stack with their class buff.
- Fixes for crashes: quest lookups with no player in the world, a taxi node outside the taxi mask, an emptied vein used again, a battleground template with no map.
Good to know
- Game builds 70707, 70685 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) keep working.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27.2
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27.2 (client builds 70707 and 70685)
This is a fix for 0.1.27.1. A server whose game is still on build 70685 (or older) could not start after 0.1.27.1: it stopped while loading the game tables ("Incorrect layout hash in SpellDuration.db2"). 0.1.27.2 starts with the game tables of both builds, so the server runs from a game on 70707 and also from a game on 70685 or older.
What changed
- The server converts the spell duration table of an older game (70685 and before) into the layout of build 70707 when it starts. The old file is kept next to it as SpellDuration.db2.legacy-layout. Nothing for you to do.
- Nothing else is different from 0.1.27.1.
Good to know
- If your server did not start after 0.1.27.1, press Update in the launcher (or use the update zip below) and start the server again.
- Game builds 70707, 70685 and older (the list in client-builds.txt) keep working.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27.1
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27.1 (client build 70707)
This is a fix for 0.1.27. After the game updated itself to build 70707, a server set up from that game could not start: it stopped while loading the game tables ("Incorrect layout hash in SpellDuration.db2"). 0.1.27.1 reads the 70707 tables, so the server starts again.
What changed
- The server reads the build 70707 layout of the spell duration table (the game added a column). Updating a server whose game is on 70707 now finishes "Updating the server's game tables" and starts normally.
- Nothing else is different from 0.1.27.
Good to know
- Run the server from a game on build 70707. A server whose game is still on 70685 or older cannot read the tables of that build any more; update the game through Battle.net first. Friends on an older build can still join a server that runs on 70707.
- If your server did not start after updating to 0.1.27, use the Update button again (or the update zip below) and start the server; no other step is needed.

WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27
WoW Forever Bots 0.1.27 (client build 70707)
This release supports the new game build 1.60.1.70707 (clients on 70685 and older still connect), brings back hosting for friends, keeps the login fix of 0.1.26.3, and fixes how bots tank, how dungeons are walked, and several quests.
Launcher
- Host for friends through a Cloudflare tunnel is back. Press Turn on and the launcher asks how friends should reach you: the Cloudflare tunnel (nothing to set up in your router, a new join code each time) or port forwarding. If your network cannot reach Cloudflare, the launcher says so before it tries.
- The login key is written into the real key table only, as in 0.1.25 and 0.1.26.3, so the crash after login stays fixed. The launcher keeps waiting until the table appears (it only exists once you press Login), and writes keyscan.txt next to itself if it never finds one.
- Still in: playing a newer game build at your own risk, and finding a game that was moved to a new folder.
Bots
- Hunter pets gain loyalty again.
- On the owner's Attack order in the open world, the tank now walks to the mob and starts the fight first, and the damage dealers wait for its lead, the same as on Pull. A Protection warrior or paladin no longer stands still while the others run in.
- Dungeons: boss routes match their waypoints in Razorfen Downs, Gnomeregan, AQ40 and seven more vanilla dungeons; a damage bot that reaches a mob running for help switches to it; healers dispel a member taken out of the fight before healing; the group keeps its kill focus while anyone still sees it; a failed path blocks only its own floor; walking into the frostwyrm lair raises Sapphiron.
Quests and world
- The Taming Rod now works on the Windsong Crawler (the client refused the cast with "Invalid target"). The quest "Taming the Beast" can be finished.
- Spawns for nine quest NPCs and twenty Forever quests, built from our own sources.
- Chol'aruk the Ravener and his quest (Bainham in the Barrens) are rebuilt from our own sources and he stands on the floor of his cave under Thorn Hill. His model is a stand-in for now, and how players get into the cave is not solved yet.
- The quest, NPC, vendor and loot data that was copied from another server's database is no longer shipped. An update keeps what your server already has. A new install has fewer Forever-only quests and NPCs than 0.1.26 until we have rebuilt them from our own sources. Quests that depended on removed NPCs are taken out so none can be accepted and not handed in.
Server
- The start script refuses to start the server when a setting appears twice in one file of server\worldserver.conf.d and names the file and the two lines (before, the server window just closed).
Not in this release
- Hired bots: the code and the Playerbot.Hire.* settings are in but off by default, and no hire NPCs are placed.
Install and update
- To update from an earlier release, use the Update button in the launcher (close and reopen the launcher after it says the launcher was updated).
