Quantum Rift 0.5.1 MP Beta 1 - Balance Patch
Balance and mission fixes
- Reduce the extra shields and armor in an early story battle so a prepared mid-tier ship or modest wing has a better chance. Weapons and escorts are unchanged.
- Give clearer preparation advice, objectives and reward descriptions.
- Count allied finishing blows toward the appropriate story encounter and recover interrupted encounters.
- Fix mission progression while docked. Eligible survey and salvage objectives can also advance in flight without an unrelated landing; physical deliveries still require their destination.
Other changes
- Add Concord security-fleet hull artwork and coordinated patrols.
- Adjust cinematic pacing and background effects.

Quantum Rift 0.4.1
Quantum Rift 0.4.1
Changes
- Find mining weapons and equipment under the outfitter’s MINING filter. Ship Details previews equipped outfits, including factory weapons, with sale prices. Sell equipment there while landed at an outfitter.
- Use I for Ship Details and O for Captain. Settings remains available through its button; both information shortcuts can be rebound.
- Open a compact loan panel with BANK beside your landed credits instead of a full Bank tab. Banking locations and loan rules are unchanged.
- Keep landed service tabs and Depart visible on short displays, with one main content scroller. Crew, Outfitter, Community and Exchange layouts adapt to narrow screens.
- Keep the Tray reachable while landed, and keep friend, message and Armada drafts when the panel refreshes.
- View colony artwork beside management on wide screens and as a smaller image on short screens. Colony actions and production rules are unchanged.
- Keep the space behind the sculpted HUD frame corners visible; rectangular outer shadows no longer fill the transparent corners.
- Clarify that both captains must be at their own Personal Station for player trading. Guest docking remains available.

Quantum Rift 0.4
Quantum Rift 0.4
Changes
- Learn the cockpit with a menu tour and ten-slide briefing. Skip either guide or replay the introduction from HELP. Control hints use your saved key bindings.
- Open your captain profile with CAPTAIN and ship details with INFO. REFINE opens Dredge processing; the thruster-pod EJECT button opens the quit menu. Escape still works.
- Follow the tour through both cockpit button rows from left to right.
- Keep the square system map at a maximum of 350 CSS pixels, even in a wider sidebar. The menu below it fills available space without a separate height slider.
- Simplify three towing labels without changing transfers or their acceptance requirements.
Updating
Close the old server and back up the complete Solo or friend-game save folder. Extract the new download into a separate folder and follow the README. Keep the old installation and backup until you have checked your captain.
Native online hosts should follow the Nakama hosting guide. The optional save generator remains Solo-only; online servers do not accept imported Solo saves.

Quantum Rift 0.3.6
Quantum Rift 0.3.6
Public release: 0.3.6. The source package and release tag are 3.6.0 and v3.6.0.
Exploration and faction stores
- The galaxy map distinguishes visited and charted systems from name-only neighbours. Unexplored space stays hidden, while mission bearings remain available when your captain has earned them. Routes use known space, with a final hop into an adjacent unvisited system.
- Faction stores sell star charts and 33 exclusive outfits: a weapon, defence and utility for each faction. Charts reveal faction-owned systems; outfit purchases check fit before charging.
- The minimap starts square and fits above the sidebar controls. Pressing J with the galaxy map open closes it and starts your plotted jump.
- Hyperspace arrivals keep clear of nearby bodies, and chained departures head away from obstructions.
Ships and captains
- NPC landing approaches brake more consistently. Fleet wingmates hold steadier headings, and NPC convoy followers use their leader's destination port.
- Index survey groups tour their work areas, with smoother drone sorties that follow the moving parent. Extraction respects deployment and range.
- Thirty rival captains have a fixed roster of names and ship names. The two formerly privileged captains now use ordinary starting luck and wealth. Stable IDs preserve existing careers; credits already held in a save are not reset.
- Combat ships close to their primary weapon's effective range rather than remaining too far away to use it.
Launching and reliability
- Launchers download the pinned Node runtime on first use when a suitable runtime is unavailable. An unsuccessful installation stops with an explanation and can be retried without reusing a partial download.
- Silent and interrupted connections are detected instead of leaving stale controls or offers active. Save validation, network command checks and graphics-resource recovery have broader regression coverage.
- Local trade quotes close profitable buy-and-sell loops. Clearance payments apply only when clearance is denied, and cockpit panels leave room for the JUMP control.
- Online instances admit up to thirty captains, with shared snapshot encoding and measured performance checks.
Updating
Close the old server first and preserve a backup of the complete Solo or friend-game save folder. Download Quantum-Rift-latest.zip, extract it into a new folder, and follow the README. Keep the old copy and backup until you have verified your captain in the new version. Native online hosts should follow the Nakama hosting guide.
The game remains in beta. The optional Solo save generator uses the 3.6.0 catalog and remains unavailable to online captains. Existing rival credits are preserved; this update does not retroactively remove earned or previously granted wealth.
