vphone 2.13.5

Core Bundle

  • vphoned's scripting session now runs on IcliKit's probe from icli 0.10.0: the JavaScriptCore context, the ObjC reflection bridge and the REPL, ported out of vphoned. vphoned drops its own copy and opens JavaScriptCore at run time, so it no longer links it; ValidateBundle.sh now requires that none of the three daemons does.
  • The worker still spawns a session process for every script and terminal, with its timeout, group kill and pseudo-terminal. api() answers with the guest API, and proc.run(path, args, input) keeps working, also as api('proc.run').
  • exit() is gone from scripts. .exit leaves the REPL, and ^C while a statement runs now ends the session.

Launchpad 2.13.5

  • No source changes besides the version. Launchpad reads nothing from vphoned. No vphone-cli argument or output, template or snapshot JSON, bundle receipt or escalator changed, so the 2.13 series stays interchangeable both ways and the minimum bundle stays 2.13.0. The helper is unchanged (build 21).
  • vphone-launchpad-2.13.5.zip is built by CI and not notarized; macOS blocks it the first time you open it (see Downloads). vphone-launchpad-2.13.0-notarized.zip keeps working with this bundle.

Upgrading

In Launchpad's Core Bundle page, install VPhone.bundle 2.13.5. Existing machines keep their Core Bundle bindings until you change them. The new vphoned reaches a guest when it is installed into it again.

Validation

  • CI builds the Release VPhone scheme and Launchpad, runs bundle admission, and checks both vphone-escalator slices before attaching the files.
  • On an iPadOS 27.0.1 guest: script evaluation, the ObjC bridge, console.log capture, api() and its invalid_operation error, proc.run (exit codes, stderr, stdin, missing program or path), fs reads and writes, thrown errors, the 2 s timeout, and the /v1/shell REPL and program modes all behaved as expected.
  • Not covered: crash isolation on the device (the session process dying unexpectedly), which is worker code this release does not change and Mac session tests cover; and tvOS guests.
