Highlights

Mobile automation arrives as a first-class platform in this release. Run tests against Android emulators and iOS simulators, discover available devices and apps, and let the AI reason about mobile screens with the same depth it brings to web. Infrastructure underneath also gets faster and more reliable: dependency downloads now run in parallel with live progress and automatic retry.

[0.8.1] - 2026-08-12

Mobile is now a first-class platform

  • Test against emulators and simulators — device setup, persistent runner sessions, and evidence capture (screenshots, logs) all work end-to-end for mobile targets, mirroring what web automation already offers.
  • The AI understands mobile screens — perception, accessibility tree inspection, vision coordinates, and code generation are all platform-aware; the model reasons about mobile UI the same way it reasons about web pages.
  • Replay works on mobile too — recorded .testmd flows can be replayed against an emulator or simulator; the frontmatter now carries target vocabulary so the file knows what platform it belongs to.
  • Gestures re-read the screen mid-turn — after a gesture tool acts during a run, the agent immediately re-reads the screen before continuing, so it works from a fresh view rather than a stale one.

Discover devices and apps before you run

  • devices list and apps list commands — see available devices and uploaded apps from the terminal before starting a session, so you can confirm your target exists without leaving the CLI.

Faster, more reliable dependency downloads

  • Dependencies download in parallel with live progress — instead of sequential fetches, all deps are grabbed at once; a progress indicator shows what's happening, and failures retry automatically.
  • Download errors surface immediately — previously, non-404 errors from the download endpoint could be swallowed silently; they now appear in the terminal so you know exactly what went wrong.
