GitCraft 0.1.0
The first, early release of GitCraft: a fast graphical git client in pure Rust.
What it does
- Commit graph of every branch, remote branch and tag, with coloured lanes, labels and your uncommitted changes on top. Big histories open instantly (git.git, 86k commits: 0.11 s).
- Staging of files, hunks or single lines, then commit or amend.
- Branches and tags: create, check out, merge, rebase and delete, from the sidebar or a right click.
- From the graph: check out, cherry-pick, revert, reset (soft, mixed, hard) and copy the SHA.
- Remotes: fetch, pull and push, with ahead and behind counts.
- Stashes: stash, apply, pop and drop.
GitCraft runs your own git for every change, so your config, hooks, credentials and signing work as on the command line. It needs git on your PATH.
Early version
- There is no confirmation yet before a hard reset.
- Repositories are opened, not cloned or created yet; that comes next.
- The downloads are a single program, not yet an installer, and they are not signed. On Windows choose More info, then Run anyway; on macOS run it from a terminal or right-click it and choose Open; on Linux mark it executable.
What comes next is in the roadmap. Bug reports and ideas are welcome in the issues.
