Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@Lasikiewicz Lasikiewicz released this 28 Oct 12:47

Initial public beta of the Plekt Emby server plugin. Sends playback start, pause, unpause, stop and progress, plus explicit watched and unwatched changes, to Plekt. No Emby Premiere subscription is required.

Install

  1. Download Emby.Plugin.Plekt.dll from the assets below.
  2. Copy it into Emby's plugins folder (/config/plugins inside the linuxserver.io Docker container; otherwise the plugins folder in Emby's program data directory).
  3. Restart Emby Server and open Settings > Plugins > Plekt.
  4. Paste the complete webhook URL from Plekt > Settings > Media Servers > Webhooks, including its token, into Plekt webhook address, and save.
  5. In Docker, use a Plekt hostname or LAN address reachable from Emby; localhost refers to the Emby container.
  6. Disable any built-in Emby webhook pointing to the same Plekt server to avoid duplicate events.

Play and pause an item, then check Plekt's Sync Activity for incoming Emby events. This beta installs manually and is not in Emby's plugin catalog.

Compatibility and delivery

Built against Emby SDK 4.9.1.90 and runtime-tested on Emby Server 4.10.1.0. Other server versions are unverified. The release build has zero warnings and all 42 plugin tests pass.

Progress is sent at most once every 30 seconds per playback session, item and user. Repeated pause/unpause reports are deduplicated. Delivery is ordered and best effort, with a five-second timeout, no retry and at most 100 pending events. Plekt's scheduled sync catches up missed activity.

The plugin forwards playback activity and item metadata only to the configured Plekt endpoint. Use a trusted endpoint; delivery logs exclude its URL and token. Licensed GPL-3.0-or-later; see the repository's LICENSE.
