MacSift v0.1.8 — prove files landed in Trash
What's new
One user reported that cleaned files appeared to be hard-deleted. They aren't — MacSift has always used `FileManager.trashItem`, which moves files to `~/.Trash`, and a test confirms this on every CI run. But the UI gave no way to verify that without manually opening Finder. This release makes the Trash destination visible and auditable.
- New 'Moved to Trash' row on the cleanup success screen with a Reveal in Finder button that opens the exact file's new location in `~/.Trash`.
- Trash destination logged to `~/Library/Logs/MacSift/macsift.log` after each real cleanup. Every run now writes the first successfully trashed file's destination path so you can audit offline.
- Hardened test: `filesAreMovedToTrashNotPermanentlyDeleted` now asserts the destination was captured, exists on disk, and lives under the user's Trash folder. The old version only checked the source was gone.
If you ever see a warning in the log saying "Cleaned N files but no Trash destination was captured", that's a real bug — please open an issue.
