PSX Trilogy Recomp 0.2.0

Experimental Windows x64 and Linux x86_64 release of the six-edition collection.
Supply your own supported disc images. Full playthroughs and physical input/audio
validation remain incomplete; this release does not claim otherwise.

Changes in 0.2

  • Native Linux SDL3/ImGui collection frontend: library, disc import, options,
    per-edition state and runtime launching.
  • Linux runtime names corrected to psx-runtime.x86_64; Windows keeps
    psx-runtime.exe.
  • Frontend and shell launcher share state locking and preserve user settings
during resource repair and updates. Runtime output capture handles large
stdout/stderr streams and preserves child exit codes.
  • Fixed INI insertion/newline handling, missing CUE-track handling, truncated PBP
header reads and Options overflowing a resized Linux window.
  • Linux packaging requires the native frontend, importer and all selected
runtimes. Verification rejects empty, stale, skipped or crashing test evidence.
  • Updated offline documentation and knowledge base for both platforms.

Platform differences and measured limits

Windows retains the existing WinForms launcher and bundled overlay toolchain.
Linux ships prebuilt native overlay shards with interpreter fallback; it does
not ship a player-side compiler. DHT USA has 199 staged native overlay shards;
the other five editions currently use interpreter fallback for dynamic overlays.
This does not mean all 199 shards were exercised during an intro boot.
Cold-cache runtime compilation on Linux is
unsupported at the pinned framework by the accepted project decision.

All six runtimes rebuilt natively on both platforms for this release. The Linux
frontend passes CTest and process tests, identification and registration of all
six real CUE fixtures, and visually inspected Wayland navigation/Options/resize
checks using Mesa llvmpipe software rendering. XWayland could not start from the
SSH session because X display authorization was unavailable. GPU acceleration,
physical gamepad/mouse input, audible audio, save/load and the full gameplay
matrix remain unverified by these checks.

See Linux documentation, native frontend evidence
and verification scope. Release checksums identify the exact
distributed files; source exports exclude game media and player state.

Release archive checks

  • Windows: six verified disc imports, six clean bounded boots, isolated bundled-compiler startup and archive privacy audit passed.
  • Linux: 61 checks passed, zero failed, five broader import scenarios not run. The report intentionally retains all_checks_passed=false. Six native boots and read-only-install/player-state isolation passed.
  • Source and player checksums and redacted verification reports are attached.
