MobInteract Wiki

简体中文 | English

Gives humanoid mobs the ability to mine blocks, build their own path toward targets they could never reach, and pick up blocks and pickaxes off the ground.

MobInteract Folia

What this is

Vanilla mobs detour around terrain they cannot cross — and when no detour exists, they just stand there. MobInteract adds two abilities to humanoid mobs such as zombies, skeletons and vindicators:

  • Mining — with a pickaxe in hand, break the block in its way, the block above its head, or the block under its target's or its own feet.
  • Building — take blocks from the stock it was given at spawn to build stairs, pillar up or bridge across, reaching a target on a ledge or across a ravine.

Plus one convenience feature:

  • Pickup — walk to dropped items; blocks go into the stock, pickaxes into the main hand.

These are just two extra higher-priority behaviours layered on top of the vanilla AI. Vanilla pathfinding is not replaced: targeting, jumping and detouring keep working, and villagers and wandering traders are not taken over by default.

Three steps

  1. Download MobInteract-x.y.z.jar from Releases, drop it into plugins/ and restart.
  2. In game run /mobinteract status for a summary; aim at a zombie and run /mobinteract inspect to see what it is thinking right now.
  3. To tune the feel, edit the yml files in plugins/MobInteract/ and run /mobinteract reload.

A mob only mines if it carries a pickaxe (10% of mobs are born with one by default; see equip.yml). Want every mob to dig? Set the spawn-equipment chance to 1.0.
